Mizzou Continues Homestand with Matchup vs. New Orleans
- After an impressive victory over No. 21 California, Mizzou now has 53 wins in program history over AP Top 25 teams. The Tigers are 94-41 as a ranked team. It was Mizzou's first win over a Top 25 opponent in nonconference play since beating No. 12 Georgetown, 54-45, on Nov. 26, 2010.
- The Tigers are riding a six-game win streak, its third win streak of five or more games since the beginning of the 2016-17 campaign. The six-game win streak is the longest since securing 13 straight victories from Nov. 13, 2015 to Jan. 29, 2015.
- With the win over Kansas State on Thursday, Mizzou has now won 48 consecutive nonconference regular season home games, with the last loss coming to Northwestern on Dec. 3, 2011. The Tigers have won 34 consecutive nonconference games at Mizzou Arena, falling to Eastern Illinois in the Postseason WNIT on March 20, 2013.
- The Tigers are 30-4 over their last 34 games at Mizzou Arena.
- In Mizzou's emphatic win over Kansas State, the Tigers made at least 30 field goals for the first time since Jan. 21, 2016 against Texas A&M. Mizzou shot 51.7 percent from the field. Pingeton's squad has shot above 50 percent in a game three times in the first seven games of the season. The Tigers shot at least 50 percent in just five games all of last season. Mizzou ranks third in the SEC in field goal percentage as a team this season, shooting 47.5 percent. Mizzou and South Carolina are the only teams in the SEC shooting above 47 percent from the field and above 70 percent from the free throw line.
- Amber Smith became the third different Tiger to score at least 20 points in a game this season on Thursday, joining Sophie Cunningham and Jordan Frericks. The Tigers are 4-1 when a player surpasses 20 points. Mizzou is also 8-0 when Smith has reached double figures in her career.
- Mizzou ranks first in the SEC and fifth in the nation in rebounds allowed per game, holding opponents to just 28.7 rebounds per contest.
- Smith was instrumental in Mizzou's win over Kansas State, setting new career-highs for points (25), made treys (5) and minutes played (35). Only six players in the SEC have made five triples in a game this season when taking at least eight attempts from beyond the arc.
- Cierra Porter is grabbing a team-high 10.4 rebounds per game, which ranks fourth in the SEC, and a league-high 7.9 defensive rebounds per game. She's also averaging 11.7 points per game, making her one of four players in the league averaging a double-double. Only four players in the history of Mizzou's program have averaged a double-double over a full season with the most recent player being Kesha Bonds in 1997-98. Her 10.4 rebounds per game currently ranks second all-time in program history in a single season.
- Her 55 total defensive rebounds rank seventh in the nation among players who have appeared in seven games or less.
Mizzou vs. New Orleans
- Mizzou and New Orleans face off for just the third time in their program histories and for the first time since a home-and-home in 1987 and 1988.
- Mizzou is 19-7 all-time against the Southland Conference.
