Tigers set for first SEC road matches of the year

COLUMBIA, Mo. – Riding a six-match winning streak, Mizzou Volleyball (11-3, 2-0 SEC) hits the road this weekend for its first Southeastern Conference matches away from home. The Tigers travel to Arkansas on Friday, Sept. 30, followed by a visit to LSU on Sunday, Oct. 2.
First serve in Fayetteville, Ark., is scheduled for 6 p.m. (CT). Mizzou's match in Baton Rouge, La., is set for a 1 p.m. (CT) start. Both contests this weekend will broadcast live on SEC Network.

- Mizzou leads the all-time series, 7-3.

Mizzou Continues Traditional Hot Starts in SEC Play
- For the fifth consecutive year (2012-pres.), Mizzou claimed its opening two SEC matches of the season.
- The Tigers tallied impressive sweeps over South Carolina (Sept. 21) and Ole Miss (Sept. 25) in their 2016 conference opening contests last week.
Kan Honored by SEC Office
- Senior Carly Kan played a key role into Mizzou's success this past week and the SEC office recognized her Monday (Sept. 26) with Week 5 Co-Offensive Player of the Week accolades.
- The Honolulu native posted a double-double in each of the Tigers' opening conference matches and tallied 22 kills on a sensational .447 hitting percentage.
Slew of Tigers Shine to Begin SEC Action
- Last Wednesday against South Carolina, Mizzou's attack tallied 45 kills on .367 hitting with the aid of junior Courtney Eckenrode's 39 assists. In the third and final set, the Tigers closed out their sweep in style with 14 kills on an incredible .667 hitting.
- Kan delivered an excellent all-around match, as she recorded her fifth double-double of the year (10 kills on .375 hitting with 14 digs).
- Redshirt junior Melanie Crow also excelled on the outside, delivering 12 kills on .367 hitting. The productive match marked Crow's 10th match with double-digit kills this season.
- This past Sunday at the Hearnes Center, Mizzou once again posted a sweep in SEC play. The Tigers edged the Rebels by three or fewer points in all three sets, while sharing 21 total ties and 10 lead changes throughout the match.
- The victory improved the Tigers' current winning streak to six matches. In fact, dating back to Sept. 16 (vs. Duquesne), Mizzou has tallied sweeps in four of its past five wins.
