The Crystal Lake, Ill. native reclassified ahead of the 2026 season to join the Tigers upcoming season.
COLUMBIA, Mo. - Mizzou volleyball adds incoming freshman Maizy Agnello (Crystal Lake, Ill.) to its 2026 roster, head coach Dawn Sullivan announced on Wednesday, May 20.
The 6'0 outside hitter joins the Tigers after reclassifying from the class of 2027 to become another member of a stout freshman class. Agnello wrapped up her high school career at Prairie Ridge with the single-season kills record with 483 (2024) - breaking her mother's record - and helped lead her team to back-to-back IHSA State Finals.
"Maizy is a fighter in every sense of the word - she is relentless, competitive, and always going hard no matter the moment," Sullivan said. "What makes her special is her ability to compete at the same high level from the first whistle to the last. Graduating early is just another example of the discipline, toughness, and heart she brings to everything she does."
Agnello finished her career with the Wolves with 4.8 kills per set and 1.8 digs per set. In accordance with those numbers, she was named to the All-Fox Valley Conference Team twice, the Northwest Herald All-Area Team three times and the Illinois Volleyball Coaches All-State Team.
The Crystal Lake, Ill. native also competed at the club level with SkyHigh Volleyball. During her time with the club, she earned All-Tournament honors at the 2025 National Championships, was named a Third Team All-American, and helped lead the team to the No. 1 ranking in the state of Illinois for two years in a row.
"I choose Mizzou because of the culture that the coaches create and the atmosphere at the school is unmatched," Agnello said. "It's more than a community, it's a family."
