College Station, Texas - Maddie Stock used a three-point shot at the buzzer to give Mizzou the upset over No. 12 Texas A&M on Thursday night in Reed Arena. Sophomore Jordan Frericks earned her 11th double-double of the season as well as she put up 25 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in Mizzou's 70-69 win at No. 12 Texas A&M. The Tigers improve to 16-12 overall and 6-9 in SEC play, and also snapped the Aggie's 17-game home win streak.
Sophomore Sierra Michaelis put up 12 points and four rebounds in the win, and Maddie Stock closed the night with seven points for Mizzou.
The Tigers put up an incredible fight inside Reed Arena on Thursday. The Tigers got off to an early lead, holding the Aggies off until the final few minutes of the first half. The Tigers didn't let up, however, only trailing by one thanks to a last-second shot from Frericks. The sophomore forward once again led the Tigers, putting up 14 first-half points and grabbing seven rebounds. With that performance, Frericks has now put up double-figure scoring numbers in 20 games this season. The competition was evenly matched when it came down to the boards, with both teams grabbing 18 rebounds before the break. The Tigers, however, held the Aggies without a single three-pointer in the half.
Mizzou fought back in the second half, getting back in the lead thanks to a three-pointer from Cunningham followed by a Hudyn layup. From there, the two teams traded buckets for the lead. With just over 10 minutes left in the game, Texas A&M used a 6-0 run to extend its lead in the game. A huge Morgan Stock three-pointer brought the Tigers within one, and after two Aggie foul shots, she hit another triple to tie the game back up at 58 just five minutes before the final buzzer. After tying it up once more, Lindsey Cunningham put the Tigers back up by one, and Morgan Stock sunk a triple to extend the Tigers' lead to four. The Aggies pulled ahead with another 6-0 run, but Maddie Stock cut the run short with a three-pointer just at the buzzer.
Mizzou will be back at home on Sunday hosting Arkansas in its regular season finale.
