Fayetteville, Ark. - Jordan Frericks led the Tigers with 14 points and nine
rebounds in Sunday's contest at Arkansas, but the Tigers could not overcome the
Razorbacks, falling 73-55. The loss drops Mizzou to 11-8 overall and 1-5 in SEC
play. Arkansas improves to 11-7 overall and 1-4 in SEC play.
Frericks led the Tigers in scoring, but Sierra Michaelis
also had a major impact finishing with 12 points in the game. She has now
reached double-figure scoring numbers in two consecutive games and seven games
total this season. Juanita Robinson's seven points in the game mark the most
she has knocked down since scoring a career-high 14 at Wake Forest.
The Razorbacks came out tough against the Tigers, holding
Mizzou to just under 30-percent shooting in the first half. Sophomore Jordan
Frericks led the Tigers in the half, tallying six points and grabbing three
rebounds. The Tigers stuck with the Razorbacks, going neck-and-neck for the
first eight minutes of play, but Mizzou couldn't keep up. Arkansas used three
consecutive three-pointers to take the lead and hold on until the end of the
game.
The
Tigers return home on Sunday, Jan. 25 to host the Kentucky Wildcats in a 3 p.m.
contest. The game will mark our annual We Back Pat game, benefitting the Pat
Summit Foundation.
