NCAA Tournament Game Notes: Mizzou vs. Bradley
Mizzou
- Mizzou improved to 42-16 on the season with the win. SS Corrin Genovese went 4-for-4 with three doubles and a walk-off single. The four hits marked a career-high for the junior. The last time a Tiger had two or more doubles was Mackenzie Sykes on March 21.
- Genovese also tied a school record with her three doubles and is just the fifth Tiger in school history to hit three in a single game.
- CF Taylor Gadbois recorded her 80th hit of the season with a double in the first inning. Gadbois is now fourth all-time on Mizzou's single season hit list.
- RF Emily Crane reached on an RBI bunt single in the first frame, lined a double in the third and singled in the eighth. She has now posted three hits in a game five times in 2014.
- Crane also swiped her 16th base of the season. 1B Kelsea Roth collected her ninth multi-hit game of 2014 with two singles.
- Roth also posted nine putouts, increasing her career total to 1,005. That places her at seventh all-time at Mizzou in a career.
- C Kristen Mack lifted a sacrifice fly to right, tallying her 13th RBI of the season to knot the game at 5-5 in the bottom of the seventh.
Bradley
- Bradley is appearing in its second-ever NCAA Tournament. The last time Bradley made the NCAA Tournament, the Braves went 1-2 at the Columbia, Mo., Regional.
- Bradley is now 0-8 vs. Top 25 teams and 7-9 in one-run games in 2014.
- 1B Alyson Clemente extended her hit streak to seven games with a single in the first inning.
- Clemente launched a three-run home run in the top of the seventh inning for her eighth long ball of 2014. Friday also marked Clemente's fifth three-RBI game.
- 2B Shannon King roped her seventh double of the season and earned a walk to extend her on-base streak to 13 games.
- 3B Marina Groenewegen continued her recent success at the plate with a single in the top of the sixth. Groenewegen has a hit in 15 of the last 17 games.
- After Friday's outing, P Madeline Lynch-Crumrine has pitched 751.2 innings in her career at Bradley. That trails only Ashley Birdsong (794.2) in Braves history.
- Lynch-Crumrine doubled to left center in the seventh inning for the 67th RBI of her career.
