Balanced Scoring Attack Carries Mizzou over SEMO

Columbia, Mo. - Four Tigers reached double-figure scoring numbers to lead Mizzou Women's Basketball to an 88-42 victory over Southeast Missouri State on Monday (Nov. 17). The Tigers improve to 2-0 on the season with the win.
Freshman Bri Porter led Mizzou with a career-high 18 points, and sophomore Jordan Frericks was just one point short of her career-best as she finished with 17 points overall. Senior Bree Fowler matched her career-high with 10 points on the night, and junior Maddie Stock put up 11 points on 3-for-5 shooting. The other half of the Stock duo, Morgan, tallied a career-high three steals on the night as well.
Mizzou got on the board early in the game as Frericks hit a layup in the first few seconds of play. Frericks led the Tigers through the first half, tallying 11 points on 5-of-6 shooting for the Tigers. Her five first-half rebounds also led Mizzou in the half. The Tigers' defense held SEMO to less than 18-percent shooting from the field and just 15-points while shooting 57-percent themselves before the break. Mizzou forced 19 Redhawk turnovers for 17 points in the game.
Frericks didn't let halftime kill her vibe. She came out 3-for-3 from the field in her first eight minutes of play. The Quincy, Ill., native finished the day 8-for-9 from the field and just two rebounds short of her first double-double of the season. Mizzou went on a 16-1 run to bring the Tiger lead to 38 with over 11 minutes left in the game.
The Tiger bench was crucial in Mizzou's win as the team tallied 54 points off the bench, outscoring the Redhawks who put up 42 points as a team.
