Missouri head coach Cindy Stein
On the game:
"I was proud of the way we came out in the second half and responded. Earlier in the season when we got down, we got frustrated and sometimes went into panic mode. These ladies showed a lot of composure and really made some good decisions, defensively and offensively, as we came down the stretch. Tracy Lozier hit some really big shots, and Evan (Unrau) hit some big shots. Kerensa (Barr) had some big three-pointers. Everybody really responded as far as working together. It was a real team effort today."
Missouri senior guard Kerensa Barr
On her first-half turnovers:
"I don't think the turnovers were because of their press. I just think I wasn't making good decisions. I was throwing it to people when they couldn't get open. In the second half, it was a close game, and I knew each possession was important, so I just tried to take care of the ball."
Missouri junior forward Evan Unrau
On the win going into the Big 12 season:
"It gives us a lot of confidence going into Baylor. Like SLU, they're really athletic, and a lot of things we saw tonight, we'll see there, and I think it's a good confidence-builder going in."
SLU head coach Jill Pizzotti
On the game:
"We came out and let them score three buckets. At Saint Louis we talk about defense and keeping an eye on that in order to be successful, and Missouri shot the ball very well-8-of-13 3's-and that's going to be hard for us to win if we allow them to shoot like that."
On Missouri's 3-point shooting:
"It was in our man defense. They hit four of them in about a five-minute, six-minute game stretch. For a team that relies on our defense, that makes it hard for us."
On the play of Missouri junior forward Evan Unrau:
"She's not a secret. She's a tremendous basketball player, and we've had our hands full with her for three years. She's a tremendous basketball player because of her talents offensively, and the fact she can shoot the 3, and the fact that she's got good size, and can play with her back to the basket. Especially now where she's playing more to the perimeter, she's a tough match-up."
SLU senior forward LaKia Jones
On Missouri's post defense:
"They were smothering inside and double-teaming. Their guards are being told when they come in from the outside to (play defense), and that makes it hard for us."
