MISSOURI HEAD COACH CINDY STEIN
on Missouri's victory over Oklahoma State:
"I'd like to congratulate Kerensa on getting her 1,000th point. I think that's an important accomplishment and a good honor. We're very proud of the win and the momentum that we're building right now; we feel good about that. We know that we still need to fine-tune some quality control throughout the game and make sure the level of play doesn't drop, but I think all of those things are obviously fixable."
on the Tigers' approach to Oklahoma State:
"We really talked about limiting certain people, knowing personnel and being aware of the certain things they try to do within their offense. One of our goals is always to control the boards, whether it's offensively of defensively; that's kind of a constant, not just our focus for one game."
on the Big 12 season:
"The key for us right now is that we won the games we knew we were definitely capable of winning in the Big 12. For us that's a good thing for us, because early on in the season that was a struggle. I see more confidence in them as players and as a team, and those are definitely positives. I do know that the Big 12 is a long haul, and you've got to take one game at a time. I think the team overall feels good going into Texas Tech, and not just primarily certain players."
SENIOR GUARD KERENSA BARR
on scoring her 1,000th point:
"I actually got a little more caught up in it than I thought I would. I knew that it was coming sooner or later. But at the same time, I knew this was a big game for us, so I wasn't really worried about how I was going to get it. We've gotten some big wins in a row, and I'm happy with that."
on Missouri's 24-4 opening run:
"I didn't look at the score a whole lot, but I knew we had a lot of shots falling and were getting some good stops. I felt like they looked frustrated on offense. I was kind of surprised when I looked up and it was 24-4, but at the same time it felt like everything was falling in right then."
SENIOR FORWARD MELANIE FISHER
on her approach to the game:
"Being a captain, I feel that I have a responsibility to go out there and play well, especially when I have a defensive task like limiting (OSU center Trisha) Skibbe. That's what I'm supposed to do, go out there and work hard. I trust my teammates and I know they're going to play at the same level or higher than what I'm playing at."
