Head coach Cindy Stein
On the game:
"You have to give a lot of credit to Texas. I think they're a terrific team. They put a lot of pressure on us defensively. They took us out of a lot of things that we wanted to do. You have to give them a lot of credit. I give our team a lot of credit for battling and fighting, but we're not going to be satisfied with that. We expect more, and we're going to continue to strive for that."
On UT's defense of junior forward Evan Unrau:
"They did a great job with Evan. They physically put her where they wanted her to go. I think that's tough for her. That's probably the first team that bounced her around, so obviously I was happy that other people were stepping up, that was good for us, but we need to help her out more than we did."
On the end of the game:
"I was not pleased in the game management at the end. I don't feel like we were real confident on the floor, and we've got to be able to handle those situations. I think it revealed itself, and Texas has been in some high-pressure games, and they handled themselves really well, and we're still kind of learning the ropes."
Missouri senior guard Kerensa Barr
On the end of the game:
"We just had some turnovers. It was obvious we didn't handle it like we should have. We'll have to learn from it and get a win next time."
Texas head coach Jody Conradt
On the game:
"Welcome to the Big 12. That was a very typical Big 12 game as far as I'm concerned; hard-fought, it was anybody's ball game until late, and it wasn't pretty."
On the play of junior guard Jamie Carey
"It's pretty obvious that Jamie is a presence, and our team is young and in some ways very immature, and the thing we need the most is a presence. She's also a player that can step up and make some clutch plays."
On UT's first road win:
"Down the line, everybody had a hand in this, and I did really feel like we were too tight, too tense, too frantic early, and our inexperience and, on the other hand, our experience of not winning on the road probably was a part of that."
Texas junior forward Stacy Stephens
On playing post in the Big 12:
"The Big 12 is a very physical conference. You should expect that every game. A Lot of teams double, and sometimes triple-team down low. Missouri did a lot of different zones. It was constantly people there, and Missouri's posts are physical players. It was a fight the whole time."
