Cold Starts: Missouri and Kansas State both struggled at the start of Wednesday's game. The Tigers opened the game by making only one of their first seven shots while Kansas State, after making a layup after winning the tip, missed its next five shots.
Lefty? Evan Unrau, who wore a cast to protect her broken right ring finger, played 20 minutes and scored nine points for the Tigers. Unrau sank her first three free throws of the game while shooting left handed.
Tale of 3's: With 11 minutes and 36 seconds remaining in the game, both Missouri and Kansas State were 20-of-44 from the field. However, the Wildcats were 9-of-18 from beyond 3-point field goal range while the Tigers were 1-of-7. Kansas State finished the game 11-of-22 from beyond the 3-point arc while Missouri was 2-of-17.
Another big crowd: Kansas State had 9,649 fans in the stands Wednesday to give the Wildcats over 100,000 fans this season. The crowd was the third largest that Missouri has played in front of this season. Iowa State announced a crowd of 10,416 when the Tigers were in town on Jan. 30 and Missouri had a school-record figure of 10,321 in attendance when MU beat Kansas 69-57 on Feb. 9.
