
Tigers Drop To No. 14 Kansas State, 74-55

MANHATTAN, Kan. (AP) - Laurie Koehn scored 27 points as 14th-ranked Kansas State beat Missouri 74-55 Wednesday.
Koehn scored seven of Kansas State's first nine points to start the second half after the Wildcats (23-6, 11-5 Big 12) led by 10 points, 36-26, at the break. Kristin Rethman added 15, all on 3-pointers.
The Wildcats led by as many as 13 before Missouri (14-13, 5-11) cut it to six, 52-46, with 10:54 left. But Nicole Ohlde responded with four straight points to ignite a 7-0 run that put the Tigers away.
Koehn made 6-of-13 3-pointers. Kansas State shot 11-of-22, 50 percent, from beyond the arc. Kendra Wecker had 12 points and 15 rebounds, her 11th double-double this season, and Ohlde added 10 points.
Wannette Smith led the Tigers with 10 points.
With the win, the Wildcats secured fourth place in the Big 12, their highest finish since the conference began in 1997.
Kansas State snapped a two-game home losing streak to the Tigers, who have lost five straight. Missouri is 2-6 in Big 12 road games.
Rethman hit two straight 3-pointers to ignite a 15-4 run with 16:03 left in the first half. The Tigers cut a nine-point lead to two before Kanas State finished the half on a 9-2 run.
