Missouri Quotes
Head coach Cindy Stein
On the team's performance...
"The effort is a lot better. If we can pull hard like that every night we could knock everyone off and that's what we have been harping on. Kansas State is a very good team. I do think that we had good performances out of our players. There was just a four-minute spell that we let them jump back and grab a lead that we couldn't catch."
On the team's effort...
Great effort is great but you have to put good execution along with that, which we didn't do the last five minutes of the game. The execution was a B tonight. You can't beat a ranked team at home with the five minutes of execution that we lacked.
On Evan Unrau's performance...
"I think that a lot of it had to with Evan's being in the gym six to seven hours a day due to the injury working on her left hand. Things like shooting with her left and working on her mechanics because she wants to play. The main thing tonight was that she had a cast on it to protect it incase it got hit. I think at practice yesterday she did a great job and she's a tough kid to be able to do the things that she does."
Sophomore Melanie Fisher
On the game...
"It was a tough game and they're a great team. We had spots that we played really well but we weren't able to play 40 minutes at the level that we needed to win."
