Tracy Lozier on finally playing a game ... "It was nice to finally play a game. We had been off for 11 days and it was fun to come out and play. It's a lot better than practice."
Natalie Bright on Arkansas-Pine Bluff game ... "They showed us we need to work on our rebounding. I think we really need to get that down in the next day in order to challenge (Illinois) on the boards."
Bright on her shooting performance ... "I felt good in practice the last couple of days. We've been able to focus on basketball the last couple of days, a lot of basketball. I felt really relaxed and comfortable running up and down the floor. It seemed a lot easier than practice for some reason."
Bright on the Illinois game ... "It's a big game for us. There are going to be a lot of people for us, hopefully. They're a good team, they're big, strong ... a Big 10 team. They're dominant inside and we're more of a smaller team that likes to push the ball up the floor. We need to use our quickness to our advantage."
Kerensa Barr on the Arkansas-Pine Bluff game and the Tigers' quick start ... "I try not to look at the scoreboard. I looked up there one time and it was like 16-4 and I didn't know we had that many points. You have to try to stay focused and play like it's 0-0. It's kind of an old cliche."
Melanie Fisher on the UAPB game ... "I think it's great that everybody scored for us. It was great to have everybody get on the board. We got on the floor tonight and it was like, 'Great, we have a game.' Sure it was great to go that long without a game and come out shooting well, especially shooting 3's that well."
Head coach Cindy Stein on the UAPB game ... "Actually, it was pretty fun. I enjoyed the fact we could get everybody in and work on some things and play somebody different than ourselves in practice. I think this game was a great preliminary contest to get us ready for our Illinois game. "I've always felt we're a pretty good shooting team. I don't feel like we've always demonstrated it. It's just a matter of certain people, like Terianne Wolford and Tracy Lozier who haven't been hitting but are good shooters, kind of catching on fire a little bit."
Stein on Illinois ... "I'm very impressed with Illinois. They've good good size, good speed ... they're going to be a handful for us. They're a very quality team. They're a good shooting team, they're athletic but their size is going to be a concern for us - that's going to be the name of the game. We're going to have to be forcing them outside."
