GAME QUOTES
Baylor Head Coach Sonja Hogg:
Opening Comments:
"We got our cans kicked. Anytime you get outrebounded by 20 in the first half, something is not there. I think they wanted the game more then we did. This was "Team B" that showed up tonight."
About Seniors Kacy Moffitt and Toya Ellis:
"They've meant an awful lot to this basketball program. They've laid a foundation and hopefully these younger players can follow in their footsteps. These are two winners and I thought these two ladies came ready to play tonight."
Senior Kacy Moffitt about being outrebounded:
"We weren't blocking out. Both the guards and the post players didn't get a body on anybody."
Senior Kacy Moffitt about possible WNIT bid:
"It's hard to say. I'd like to continue playing, but I don't know if a lot of people on our team have the drive."
Senior Toya Ellis about offensive troubles:
"We didn't have any problem getting into our offense, we just weren't making open shots."
Senior Toya Ellis about the game:
"We came ready to play, they (Missouri) just wanted to win more than we did."
Missouri Head Coach Cindy Stein:
Opening Comments:
"This team had fun out there. We came to win. We progress every single game. We finally get the results out of hard work and dedication. It was a well-fought game. We came out on the better end of it."
On the game:
"Regardless of who we play, it will be tough because it is the Big 12 conference. It puts us in a tough position because we are the 10th seed. We know it will be a tough battle and we need to give it our all. The team has taken it upon themselves to take one game at a time. Respect will come with working hard. Rebounding is something that we need to better. We need to match aggressiveness on the boards."
On the Missouri players:
"Keisha Bonds is extremely competitive. I have a lot of confidence in her. She is great for our program. Amy Monsees is also a person who strives for perfection. Both have the fight attitude. Keisha Bonds wants to go out the best way she can. The team embraced themselves around this. We have to have chemistry and have to stay focused."
Missouri Player Keisha Bonds:
About the game:
"I usually try not to choke when it comes to hitting free throws. I was able to hit them this game. It is really a pay back. It is a good thing for the team. I think the last game against Baylor they got a lot of offensive rebounds. It was all my might to push them out from getting those rebounds. I am excited to play one more game. I want to play better tomorrow. I am really excited about playing Iowa State tomorrow because they are still fresh on our minds. This was the most important games this year."
Missouri Player Julie Helm:
On the game:
"Look at the score board. This game was really good enough for us. We are going to put this game behind us and take the win. We were really pumped up and ready to play. We want that respect in the Big 12. It was hard to come out and be intense for forty minutes. We scraped for those minutes. Confidence and intensity will carry us through the Iowa State game."
