After serving as a leader from 2011-14 on Robin Pingeton's scout team, Michael Scott, Jr., joined the Mizzou Women's Basketball staff as a Graduate Assistant during the summer of 2014. In his first year, he has played an essential role in opponent film and video breakdown, oversight of the program's scout team, guard breakdown, marketing for Tiger Paws and Show-Me Squad, along with numerous other duties.
As an alumnus and former standout of Mary Institute and Country Day School (MICDS), he has deep ties to St. Louis basketball. His playing experiences include being named the 2010 ABC League Player of the Year, earning a spot on the 2010 Class 4 all-state team and leading MICDS to a Class 4 district championship. Scott has coaching experience at MICDS, Christian Brothers College (CBC) and Missouri-St. Louis basketball camps, being an apprentice to Dennis Beckett at the St. Louis Basketball Academy and providing individual workouts to numerous collegiate, high school and middle school players.
A May 2014 graduate, Scott earned a dual emphasis undergraduate degree in Finance and Banking and Real Estate from Missouri's Trulaske College of Business. He is currently pursuing his master's degree in Educational, School and Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Positive Coaching.
