Biography

2008: Micaela Minner was given a medical redshirt after tearing her ACL prior to the start of season.

2007: The second Missouri player in five years to earn multiple All-Midwest Region honors, Minner started in all 64 of Missouri's games and finished her junior campaign with a .366 average. Strong at the plate, the cleanup hitter led her teammates in batting average (.366), on base percentage (.479), hits (63), doubles (18) and walks (33). Competing with teammate Jen Bruck for the Missouri career home run record, Minner fell one yard ball shy of Bruck's mark (33) hitting her 32nd career homer in Missouri's April 15 win at home over No. 2 Oklahoma. Minner's home run drove in two of Missouri's five runs over the Sooners. Minner and the Tigers took on defending National Champion Arizona in Tucson, Ariz., March 4, with Minner going 4-for-5 at the plate and credited with two RBI. Minner was second among her teammates in multiple hit games (16) and multiple RBI games (10). In addition, Minner owned the second longest hitting streak of the Tigers at six. Among Big 12 competitors, Minner stood second in the league with 18 doubles on the season and was one double away from holding the top spot. Minner stood sixth in the league in walks and on base percentage, and 10th in batting average, total bases (99) and slugging percentage (.576). Taking on the Bison of North Dakota State, March 14, Minner hit three straight doubles to drive in three Missouri runs. Honors: All-Midwest Region, All-Big 12 First Team.

2006: Beginning the 2006 campaign on the preseason USA Softball top-50 watch list, Minner started all 53 of Missouri's games, finishing the year with a .340 batting average and .608 slugging percentage. The team leader in RBI (43) and doubles (14), Minner added nine home runs bringing her then-career record to 26. Minner's 26th home run came April 19 against Border Showdown opponent Kansas in Lawrence. One of only two hits on the day, Minner's leadoff homer in the top of the seventh went deep over the fence in center field. Earlier in the season, the 2006 All-Big 12 honoree recorded her first collegiate grand slam while playing Missouri State in the Missouri State Spring Classic, March 4. With two outs on the board, Minner drove in Missouri's, third, fourth, fifth and sixth runs of the game with a powerful blast over the right field wall. Intentionally walked on three occasions, including Missouri's conference opener with then-No. 15 Oklahoma, Minner had two perfect games at the plate going 2-for-2 against Oklahoma March 25 and 3-for-3 against Texas Tech, April 30. Minner led the team in multiple RBI games (12) and held the second longest hitting streak at 10 games from April 19 through May 10. In the outfield, Minner collected 50 putouts and four assists for a .964 fielding percentage. Among Big 12 opponents, Minner was third in doubles and ninth in slugging percentage. Honors: All-Big 12 First Team, Academic All-Big 12

2005: Coming off of an injury redshirt season, Minner made a name for herself setting the Missouri single-season home run record at 17, a record that stood for three years, moving into fifth on the career home run list and making her way onto the top 10 list for six Missouri single-season records (batting average (fourth-.388), runs scored (eighth-47), RBI (fourth-55), slugging percentage (second-.781), and walks (fourth-27)). One of three Tigers to start all 58 games, Minner led her team with a .388 batting average, a .497 on-base percentage and 17 multiple-RBI games. She was second in slugging percentage (.781), hits (62), RBI (55), total bases (125) and longest hitting streak (10). Minner was one of three players with five RBI in a single game (Feb. 26-Ball State) and finished sixth in the competitive Big 12 Conference with her .388 batting average. On April 27, Minner moved into second on the Missouri season home run list with her 15th against North Dakota State, while her 16th and 17th moonshots were in Missouri's NCAA Regional Tournament games against Robert Morris (May 21) and No. 4 Stanford (May 22). Minner had home runs in each game of a doubleheader against Iowa State on April 6 and hit home runs in three-consecutive games (April 6-Iowa State, doubleheader, April 9-Texas Tech). In what became Missouri's final game of the campaign, Minner blasted a first inning, two-out home run against the fourth ranked Stanford pitcher in the NCAA Regional title game. Honors: Crimson Classic All-Tournament Team, All-Big 12 Second Team, Big 12 Player of the Week, All-Midwest Region Team

2004: Minner started five games in left field for Missouri before breaking both bones in her lower leg while attempting to make a play in Mizzou's Feb. 8 game against Arkansas at the Gator Invitational. The injury forced Minner to miss the remainder of the season. In only the second collegiate game of her career, Minner scored two runs, hitting her first double hard to left field in the second inning against UTC on Feb. 6.

Sanger: Coached by Nick Peetro and Kevin Lewis at Sanger High School, Minner was a member of the 2001 Texas State Championship team. Her senior year she was named Offensive MVP of the District and was named to the all-area first team. She was an academic all-state selection and was invited to participate in the Texas All-Star game. Minner was a member of the North Texas Storm club softball team.

Personal: Micaela Minner is the daughter of Jim and Angela Kastel. Born August, 19, 1985, in Sanger, Texas, Minner has one brother, Ben (14) and one sister, Danielle Minner (21). Minner is a communications major.
