WICHITA, Kan. – University of Missouri softball commenced its second day at the 2025 Shocker Invitational with a 10-1 run-rule victory over South Dakota State Saturday at Wilkins Stadium.
With the win, Mizzou improved to 10-9 in 2025 while SDSU dropped to 5-11 this season. The meeting was the first of two between the two teams this campaign.
Taylor Ebbs tallied her 100th career hit in the second inning with a solo blast to deep center.
Sophomore Madison Walker notched a career-best matching two hits (2-for-3) with a personal-high five RBI on a double and home run. It marked the first time a Tiger had five RBI since Mya Dodge posted the feat at George Mason on March 28, 2024.
Walker, an Olathe, Kansas, native, belted her seventh homer of the season in the third to extend MU's lead to 3-0.
Ebbs tallied her second homer of the day in the third, a two-run shot to right, to provide Missouri a 5-0 advantage.
The senior from Keizer, Oregon, finished the game 2-for-3 with three RBI on a career-best matching two home runs (third time in career, first time in 2025).
MU scored four runs in both the third and fourth frames Saturday to register its second run-rule win of the season.
After an RBI bases loaded walk for Kara Daly, Walker doubled home a trio of Tigers to push the Missouri edge to 9-0 in the fourth.
Haidyn Sokoloski added an RBI bases loaded walk in the fifth to push the margin to 10-0.
SDSU would get on the board in the fifth with a solo home run.
Taylor Pannell, the NCAA's active career saves leader, made her second career collegiate start, going the distance for the complete game once again (second in 2025).
After making her first collegiate start against Rutgers (Feb. 20), the Lee's Summit, Missouri, native, matched a career-best seven strikeouts, allowing one earned run on two hits with a pair of walks. She improved to 3-2 in 2025 (9-3 in career).
Missouri scored 10 runs for the fourth time this season and in the second-straight game following Friday's 10-1 win over Wichita State.
MU also compiled a season-best 11 walks which ranks tied for second all-time in program history for a single game. Kara Daly had a career-best three.
