WICHITA, Kan. – University of Missouri softball concluded its second day of the 2025 Shocker Invitational with a 7-1 victory over No. 16/18 Nebraska Saturday afternoon at Wilkins Stadium.
With the win, Mizzou improved to 11-9 in 2025 while Nebraska fell to 13-6 this season.
The ranked win is the Tigers' third of the season.
MU is now 3-1 at the Shocker Invitational after a 2-0 Saturday that also featured a 10-1 run-rule win over South Dakota State.
The Tigers and Huskers will face off for a second time this weekend Sunday at 11 a.m., CT. Due to forecasted inclement weather in the Wichita area, Sunday's game against Nebraska has been moved up an hour from the original noon first pitch.
Missouri utilized a six-run fourth frame to take a 6-0 advantage that it wouldn't relinquish against the Huskers Saturday afternoon.
The Tigers capitalized on an error and a fielder's choice to go with RBI hits from Haidyn Sokoloski (infield single), Julia Crenshaw (two-run double to left center) and Madison Walker (base hit to center) during the inning.
The Huskers would scratch across a run in the fourth before Missouri would get the run back (7-1) on a fielding error from Nebraska in the fifth.
Kara Daly (2-for-5), Walker (2-for-4) and Taylor Ebbs (2-for-3, double) each had two hits for MU Saturday against Nebraska.
Ebbs, a senior from Keizer, Oregon, has now registered two hits in each of the last three contests. She hit .667 (4-for-6) over both games Saturday with two homers and three RBI.
Walker went 4-for-7 (.571) over the two games Saturday with six RBI.
Stefania Abruscato (1-for-3) added a double in the win versus Nebraska.
Crenshaw knocked a two-run double to go with a run, walk and a stolen base. She has now reached base in nine-straight games while Daly has reached safely in seven-straight games.
Marissa McCann picked up the complete-game victory in the circle, allowing just one earned run on four hits with a trio of strikeouts. The sophomore from Surprise, Arizona, improved to 4-3 on the year after her fifth complete-game (second-straight) in 2025.
