Women's Basketball Sets its Sights on No. 19 Alabama

COLUMBIA, Mo. – University of Missouri women's basketball travels for the first time in Southeastern Conference play to face No. 19 Alabama at 2 p.m. CT on Sunday in Coleman Coliseum.

Missouri (11-5, 0-1 SEC) is coming off a loss to No. 2 South Carolina on Thursday.

Junior guard Ashton Judd led Missouri in scoring for the second time this season with 15 points against the Gamecocks.

Grace Slaughter contributed 13 points to aid the effort.

Judd is averaging 14.6 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.9 steals in the last eight games after averaging 7.5 points, 4.4  boards and 1.1 steals, respectively, in the opening eight contests.

Missouri is among the nation's top 3-point shooting programs this season.

Sophomore guard Abbey Schreacke is second in the SEC and is tied for 14th nationally with 40 3-pointers this season.

Schreacke also ranks sixth in the SEC in 3-point percentage (38.5).

Slaughter is third in the country in 3-point percentage (52.9) among athletes who average 1.0+ makes per game this season.

As a team, the Tigers lead the SEC and are ninth nationally in 3-point percentage at 38.71 percent.

Redshirt sophomore guard Averi Kroenke ranks third in the SEC and ninth in the country with a 3.19 assist-to-turnover ratio.

In the classroom, Missouri earned a 3.35 GPA during the 2024 Fall semester with eight Tigers recording above  3.5 and four with 4.0.

No. 19 Alabama enters Sunday at 14-1 following a win over Florida on Sunday.

The Crimson Tide are coached by Kristy Curry who is in her 12th year with the program and has amassed 211 wins.

Alabama is led by Zaay Green who averages 16.3 points per game.

With Green's production, the Crimson Tide have four players averaging double figures.

Sunday will mark the 19th overall meeting between the programs with the series tied 9-9. Missouri leads the matchups in played Tuscaloosa, 6-2.
