Track and Field Completes Day One of Drake Relays

Tigers competed in five events.
DES MOINES, Iowa — University of Missouri track and field sent student-athletes to compete at five events in the Drake Relays (Des Moines, Iowa) on Friday. The Tigers placed in the top-five in three events.
NOTABLE FINISHES
Mizzou's squad A — Davis Helmerich (Highland Ranch, Colo.), Jonathan Schmidt (Dresden, Saxony, Germany), Mitchell Small (Christchurch, New Zealand) and Martin Prodanov (Plovdiv, Bulgaria) — took third out of 13 teams in the men's 4x1,600m relay with a time of 16:40.21.
The men's 4x800m team — William Sinclair (Tauwhare, New Zealand), Angus Beer (Rozelle, Australia), Jack Warner (Kansas City, Mo.) and Chris Conrad (O'Fallon, Ill.) — also placed in the top five, finishing fourth with a time of 7:22.27.
In the women's 1,500m, Melissa Menghini (Fenton, Mo.) clocked a new personal best, placing ninth with a time of 4:24.43.
UP NEXT
The Tigers will compete Saturday, April 30, in the Rock Chalk Classic (Lawrence, Kan.) and the Drake Relays.
