Abouzouhir comes to Columbia after serving in a similar role with Track House USA.
Mizzou track and field and cross country head coach Brett Halter announced Wednesday the addition of Abdelhakim "Hakim" Abouzouhir as the Tigers' director of operations and assistant coach.
In his role, Abouzouhir will oversee the day-to-day operations of the program, including team travel, logistics and competition management. He will also assist with recruiting support, compliance and student-athlete services while serving as a liaison with athletics staff, administration and external partners.
Abouzouhir arrives in Columbia after serving as Director of Operations and Recruiting Consultant with Track House USA, a U.S.-based recruiting agency that works with top international athletic talent. In that role, he coordinated with college coaches on recruits, supported athletes in the NCAA recruiting process, and helped negotiate scholarship and NIL opportunities.
He also co-founded MB Realty Experts, a real estate company in Marrakech, Morocco, and previously taught physical education and coached track at the Regional Academy for Education & Training in Marrakech.
As a student-athlete, Abouzouhir competed for Eastern Kentucky University in cross country and track and field from 2022–24. A two-time NCAA First Team All-American in the 3,000-meter steeplechase (2023, 2024), he qualified for the NCAA Championships in both track and cross country and earned multiple All-ASUN and All-Region honors. He won conference medals in the steeplechase, 5,000 meters, and mile, and set an ASUN record in the 10,000 meters at the Raleigh Relays.
Internationally, Abouzouhir represented Morocco at the World University Cross Country Championships, helping his national team to the title in 2022 while finishing sixth individually in the 10K.
A native of Marrakech, Morocco, Abouzouhir earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from Cadi Ayyad University in 2019, a diploma in physical education teaching from the Regional Center for Education & Training (CRMEF) in 2021, and a bachelor's degree in general studies from Eastern Kentucky in 2024.
