Mizzou Tennis Heads For No. 8 Auburn

AUBURN, Ala. – The University of Missouri (6-13, 1-5 SEC) wraps up another weekend of SEC competition at No. 8 Auburn (15-2, 6-0 SEC) tomorrow, March 27, at 12 p.m.
Action at No. 38 Alabama
Mizzou lost its match against No. 38 Alabama on Friday evening, 1-6. Gabriela Martinez was able to score a point for the Tigers with her third set win over Anne Marie Hiser, 6-2, 1-6, 6-3. The team faced two ranked singles players in No. 74 Loudmilla Bencheikh and No. 107 Petra Sedlackova. Bronte Murgett and Elys Ventura were able to win 14 games against the pair of ranked opponents, but were unable to pull of the upset.
High-Ranking Auburn
Auburn has claimed a spot in the Top-25 team rankings every week since the beginning of the year. The team is coasting with a seven-game win streak that began back on February 20. Three of the team's seven previous wins come against Top-30 ranked opponents – No. 22 Vanderbilt, No. 28 Kentucky and No. 19 Alabama. In the ITA Rankings, three Auburn players sit in the singles poll with Ariana Arseneault (No. 59), Selin Ovunc (No. 65) and Carolyn Ansari (No. 81). In the doubles rankings, Arseneault/Ovunc control the No. 22 spot.
