
Mizzou Men’s Golf Set to Tee Off in Their Fall Opener

The Tigers host the annual Turning Stone Tiger Intercollegiate in New York
VERONA, NY – Mizzou Men's Golf is back in action this weekend to kick off their 2021-22 season at their annually hosted Turning Stone Tiger Intercollegiate event in upstate New York. The event features two full-packed days with back-to-back rounds of 36 holes overall being played on the first day and closing the final 18 on the second. The competitive slate includes 14 other teams: Binghamton, Boston College, Canisius, Cleveland State, Delaware, Duke, LSU, Missouri, Mount St. Mary's, Niagara, Penn State, Sacred Heart, St. Francis, Towson and Youngstown State.
WHERE: The Turning Stone Tiger Intercollegiate will take place at the Turning Stone Resort's Kaluhyat Course (Par-72, 6,882 yards) in Verona, NY.
WHEN: The two-day event launches on Sunday, Sept. 5 featuring two consecutive rounds with the final round wrapping up on Monday, Sept 6.

INDIVIDUAL: Dagbjartur Sigurbrandsson
Columbia native Jack Parker kicks off his fifth year in the headline spot of the Mizzou lineup. He competed in five events last year: four in the team lineup and one as an individual. Parker fired four rounds under par which included tying his career-best round score of a 4-under 68 at the Legends Collegiate Invitational and looks to card his 20th career round under par this weekend.
Senior Tommy Boone is slotted second for the Tigers. He caught fire in the spring 2021 season after posting back-to-back Top-25 finishes at the renowned Hootie at Bulls Bay and the Missouri Tiger Invitational. Boone ended the year with a season scoring average of 73.66.
Representing the team in the third spot is sophomore transfer Jack Lundin. The previous Nebraska-standout joins after concluding his freshman year with three consecutive Top-15 finishes and recording the second-best scoring average on the team.
Junior Yu-Ta Tsai clinches the fourth spot for the Black and Gold this week. A consistent name in the team's lineup last year, Tsai tallied six rounds under par in addition to firing his career-best round score of a 4-under 68 at both the Jerry Pate National Intercollegiate and the Hootie at Bulls Bay.
Rounding out the lineup is junior Michael Terblanche. After joining the team just prior to the 2021 spring schedule start, this will mark Terblanche's first fall season as a Tiger. In his three events played last year, he recorded two rounds under par with a season-low round score of a 1-under 69.
Competing as an individual this weekend, freshman Dagbjartur Sigurbrandsson will make his Mizzou career debut. The Icelandic native enters the collegiate golf world with eight wins on the Icelandic Junior Golf Tour and two on the Men's Tour – one of which he became the youngest in history to win – in addition to nine Top-10 finishes.
