FALL RECAP
The Tigers competed in five tournaments during the fall season, landing in the top-5 in two of them. Mizzou's best showing came in the Moraine Intercollegiate, with three Tigers placing in the top-15, leading to a third-place team finish.
Senior Veikka Viskari led the team in the fall season, posting a 72.07 stroke average through 15 rounds. He placed in the top-15 in four-of-five tournaments, entering the spring season ranked No. 174 in the nation.
Other highlights include sophomore Trent Mierl tying his career-low 54-hole score with a 207 at the Moraine Intercollegiate, finishing the fall season with a 72.80 stroke average.
LAST YEAR AT THE JOHN BURNS INVITATIONAL
The Tigers placed 11 of 17 schools at last year's tournament with Utah and UNLV claiming a share of the team title.
Brock Snyder led Mizzou by finishing 18th overall in the 102-player field at -2 (66-71-71).
PAZ HIGHLIGHTS WINTER BREAK
A number of Tigers competed during the winter break but none was more impressive than senior Virgilio Paz at the Latin America Amateur Championship.
Paz carded a five-under tally total of 275 (70-73-64-68) to finish in a tie for first place after 72 holes of play at Lima Golf Club in Lima, Peru. While he would ultimately fall in a playoff, Paz receives an exemption into final qualifying for The Open, the U.S. Open and the U.S. Amateur Championship plus an exemption into The Amateur Championship by virtue of his runner-up finish.
