Mizzou Tennis Drops Senior Day Match to No. 17 Auburn

Nash gets a win in doubles action on Senior Day
COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Tennis (15-11, 1-8 SEC) fell to No. 17 Auburn (12-3, 7-2 SEC), 4-1, on Sunday afternoon at the Mizzou Tennis Complex. Mizzou honored its three seniors before the match, as senior Serena Nash (Bradford, England) earned a victory in doubles action. The Tigers also honored seniors Gabrielle Goldin (Bradenton, Fla.) and Kat Rosenberger (St. Louis, Mo.)
DOUBLES
In doubles play, Auburn took the point after winning on courts 2 and 3. Mizzou's team of senior Marta Oliveira (Lisbon, Portgual) and Nash were able to finish off a victory on court one, as they defeated Georgie Axon and Adeline Flach, 6-3.
SINGLES
In singles play, Auburn clinched the win after earning victories at the No. 3, 4 and 5 positions. Oliveira was able to claim victory on court six before play was stopped, as she beat Anastasia Astakhova in straight sets, 7-5, 6-1. With the win, Oliveira improved to 14-7 on the season in singles action and 4-4 in SEC play.
UP NEXT
Mizzou will hit the road for its last four matches of the regular season. This upcoming week, Mizzou will face No. 3 Georgia on Friday, April 2, and No. 19 Tennessee on Sunday, April 4.
