Mizzou falls to 15-12 on the season and 1-9 in SEC play

ATHENS, Ga. – Mizzou Tennis (15-12, 1-9 SEC) dropped a match to No. 3 Georgia (13-1, 9-0 SEC), 4-0, Friday afternoon in Athens, Ga. Mizzou was competitive in a number of ranked matches, but was unable to secure any victories.

DOUBLES

In doubles play, the Bulldogs took the point after picking up victories on courts two and three. Mizzou's team at the No. 1 spot, senior Serena Nash (Bradford, England) and senior Marta Oliveira (Lisbon, Portugal) trailed Georgia's No. 3-ranked team of Katarina Jokic and Ariana Arseneault, 4-5, when play was halted.

SINGLES

In singles play, Georgia won on court 1, 2 and 4 to clinch the match. Playing at No. 6, Oliveira earned a set victory over Arseneault and was locked in a 2-2 tie in set three when play was stopped.

UP NEXT

Next, Mizzou will heads to Knoxville, Tenn., to face No. 22 Tennessee on Sunday. The match is scheduled to start at 10 a.m. CT.
