COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou gymnastics sophomore Sienna Schreiber (Cumming, Ga.) was named a Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Association (WCGA) Regular Season All-American, the organization announced on Thursday. Schreiber claimed second team honors on beam.
Schreiber is the eighth Tiger in program history to claim All-America honors and the third to earn regular season accolades since the WCGA (previously known as the NACGC/W) introduced the award in 2013. She joins Britney Ward (2016, 2017) and Helen Hu (2020) as WCGA Regular Season All-Americans.
Regular season All-Americans are determined by National Qualifying Score (NQS) rankings. The top eight gymnasts (including ties) on each event and in the all-around earn first team honors, while the next eight are named to the second team.
Schreiber currently ranks tied for 13th on beam with an NQS of 9.938. Overall, she totaled eight scores of 9.85 or higher and five scores of 9.9 or better on beam in nine meets this year, including a career-best 9.975 at LSU in the regular season finale.
The sophomore's beam growth from 2020 is significant. As a freshman in 2020, Schreiber's high on the event was 9.85, with only five scores of 9.8 or better in 10 meets. This season, Schreiber stepped into the anchor spot in the lineup in place of the injured Hu and helped the Tigers become one of the nation's top beam teams.
Over the course of the 2021 season, Schreiber has won a team-best eight event titles, with four on beam, three on bars and one in the all-around. In addition to her beam NQS, Schreiber also carries NQSs of 9.875 on bars, 9.825 on vault and floor and 39.388 in the all-around, thanks to season-best scores of 9.9 on bars, 9.875 on floor, 9.85 on vault and 39.500 in the all-around.
Schreiber and the No. 23 Mizzou gymnastics team will compete in the second session of the NCAA Tuscaloosa Regional Second Round on Friday, April 2 at 7 p.m. CT in Tuscaloosa, Ala.
