ORLANDO, Fla. – No. 19/20 Mizzou Softball travels north from Boca Raton, where they played in FAU's "Strike-Out Cancer" Tournament, to Orlando to take on No. 22 UCF. The Tigers went 3-1 on the weekend defeating SEC rival Ole Miss and host FAU, twice.
Mizzou's game against UCF will be broadcast on ESPN+ at 5 p.m. CT on Wednesday evening.
Kimberly Wert has jumped out to a hot start for the Tigers in the 2021 season. The senior has smashed four home runs while batting .560 at the plate. Seven of her 14 hits have gone for extra bases.
While the offense has been busy putting runs on the board, Jordan Weber has kept the scoreboard clean with her impressive pitching performances. In two of her three starts, she has entered the fifth inning without having allowed a hit. Against FAU, Weber brought a perfect game bid into the fifth inning, having it broken up on an infield single.
This game will represent Mizzou's third ranked matchup of the season. The Tigers are currently 1-1 in those games, both coming against Florida State.
Wednesday will be the Tigers' last scheduled game in the state of Florida. Each of the eight opening games have been played in the state.
