COLUMBIA, Mo. — Mizzou Track and Field continues the outdoor season, as the Tigers are set to travel to Des Moines, Iowa for the Drake Relays from April 22-24. Competition on the Blue Oval is set to begin on Thursday evening with the distance carnival with the competition continuing through Friday and Saturday. The meet will be broadcast live on USATF.TV with a paid subscription. Live results will be available on PTTiming.com.

Mizzou returns to the Blue Oval after nearly two years away from the competition, as last year's meet was canceled due to COVID-19. Last time out, the Tigers captured one coveted white flag, as graduate student Sophia Rivera (Brentwood, Mo.) won the women's javelin.

The Drake Relays will begin on Thursday, April 22, beginning with the men's and women's 800m races at 6:00 p.m. CT. The rest of the distance carnival events will follow, as the Tigers wrap up the night with the 5000m races.

On Friday, Mizzou will begin the day at 1:45 p.m. CT with the men's shot put. Track events will follow soon after, beginning at 2:00 p.m. CT with the women's 200m dash. The Tigers will close out the day with the men's 1500m invitational at 6:31 p.m. CT.

Mizzou will close out the Drake relays on Saturday, as the Tigers kick off the day with the women's hammer throw at 12:45 p.m. CT. The 100m dash and 4x100m relay finals will also take place for those who qualify. The 4x400m invitational relays will follow, as Mizzou finishes the weekend.

Iowa native Kelsey Schweizer (Urbandale, Iowa) will be in action in the women's unseeded 800m race on Thursday evening. Last weekend, at the War Eagle Invitational, Schweizer set a massive personal best in the 800m in a time of 2:07.09, beating her previous time by more than four seconds.

Redshirt freshman Mitch Weber (Saint Clair, Minn.) is set to compete in the men's discus on Friday afternoon. Weber currently holds the third best discus mark in the nation with a throw of 60.99m (200-1), which also ranks second in program history.

Back on the track, junior Nylo Clarke (Riverside, Mo.) will run in the men's 200m dash. Clarke has yet to compete in the 200m dash this season, but ranks seventh in program history with a time of 20.81 seconds.

Sophomore Morgan O'Neal (Sylacauga, Ala.) will hit the track in the women's 400m hurdles on Friday. Last weekend, O'Neal set a personal best in the event at the War Eagle Invitational with a time of 59.28. O'Neal ranks third in program history in the event

Following the Drake Relays, the Tigers will travel to Lawrence for the Kansas Invitational next weekend for the final regular season meet of the season. Postseason competition will begin with the SEC Outdoor Championships, set for May 13-15 in College Station, Texas.
