
Mizzou Men's Golf Travels to Arizona for Desert Mountain Intercollegiate

The Tigers tee off Saturday morning
COLUMBIA, Mo. — Mizzou Men's Golf travels to Scottsdale, Ariz., for the Desert Mountain Intercollegiate this weekend. The Tigers will tee off at the Outlaw Course (Par 72, 7,107 yards) at Desert Mountain Golf Club on Saturday, March 7 at 9 a.m. CT and will play 36 holes on Saturday, followed by 18 holes on Sunday.
Mizzou will compete against 11 other teams in Scottsdale: Arkansas-Little Rock, Ball State, Lipscomb, Miami (Ohio), Michigan, Mississippi State, Nebraska, Northwestern, Purdue, Southern Illinois and Vanderbilt.
Senior Rory Franssen (Inverness, Scotland) will compete in the top spot of the Tigers' lineup for the seventh consecutive tournament. He has filled the role in each tournament this season. The senior finished in the Top-25 at the Gator Invitational, carding a 2-over-212 for the tournament
Freshman Ross Steelman (Columbia, Mo.) is coming off his second Top-10 finish of the season, carding a team-leading 1-over-211. He will start in the second spot for head coach Mark Leroux in Scottsdale. Steelman became the first freshman since 2012 to win a tournament, taking the title at the Prairie Club Invitational.
Junior Jack Parker (Columbia, Mo.) will fill the third spot in the lineup for his hometown Tigers in Scottsdale. Parker competed in each of Mizzou's six tournaments in the this season, finishing a season-high 10th at the Turning Stone Tiger Intercollegiate and carding a 1-under-par 215.
In the fourth spot for the Tigers is sophomore Tommy Boone (Plano, Texas). Boone last competed in the Gators Invitational, putting together his first round at or under par this season.
Senior Ricky Sanders (The Hague, Netherlands) will compete in the final spot for the Tigers at the tournament. In five events this season, Sanders has carded three rounds under par and finished with a season-low 4-under-212 at the Turning Stone Intercollegiate, two strokes off his career-low three-round score.
Yu-Ta Tsai (Taipei, Taiwan) will also compete in the tournament as an individual. The freshman has competed in three events this season, carding three rounds under 75.
