
@MizzouTennis Returns Home to Face No. 11 Texas A&M and No. 21 LSU

COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Mizzou tennis team returns home to the Mizzou Tennis Complex as the team hosts a pair of top 25 programs this weekend. The Tigers take on No. 11 Texas A&M on Friday, March 22 at 5 p.m. before a match against No. 21 LSU on Sunday, March 24 at Noon. Admission to both matches is free.
Live streaming will be available for both if play is held outside.
Missouri is coming off a tough 4-3 loss to Arkansas on March 15. The squad battled back from a 3-0 deficit to make it 3-2 after wins from sophomores Ellie Wright and Taylor Gruber. Wright earned a 6-2, 7-6 (5) victory over Lauren Alter at No. 4 singles to claim her second SEC singles win of the conference slate. A 6-4, 1-6, 6-2 defeat over Jackie Carr from Gruber put the Tigers back in the match with only two singles bouts left.
At No. 1 action, junior Mackenzy Middlebrooks forced a decisive third set but ultimately fell to Martina Zerulo, 6-3, 4-6, 6-3 to clinch the win for the Razorbacks. Minutes later, Fukutoku closed out a 4-6, 6-4, 7-6 (4) victory against Laura Rijkers at No. 3 singles, to make the final score 4-3.
The Tigers are 11-6 overall on the season.
Texas A&M enters with a 16-3 overall mark and a 4-2 record in Southeastern Conference action. Last weekend, the Aggies picked up a 4-2 win over Vanderbilt and a 4-1 defeat of Kentucky.
LSU owns a 12-6 record and is 2-4 in SEC competition, with wins over Alabama (4-0) and Auburn (4-1) during the opening weekend of conference play.
Following these two matches, the Tigers travel to Savannah, Ga., for a doubleheader against Savannah State on Tuesday, March 26 at 1 p.m. CT and 3 p.m. CT.
