STORYLINES
- Mizzou Softball will play in its first midweek game of the season, as the Tigers will host Bradley this Wednesday at 4 p.m. CT at Mizzou Softball Stadium.
- The Tigers will then travel to Lexington, Ky,. for a showdown with No. 13/14 Kentucky in a three-game series over the weekend.
- The Tigers most recently clinched the series over No. 8/9 Georgia, winning games on Saturday and Sunday to take home a 2-1 series advantage after dropping game one on Friday.
- Saturday's win marked Mizzou's first win against a ranked opponent since the Tigers downed the Devils of then-No. 12 Arizona State in Tempe back on February 8.
- The series win marked the first SEC series win for Mizzou since the Tigers toppled No. 8 Auburn at home last season (4/13 - 4/14/18).
RAABE ROBS GEORGIA
- Freshman 1B Emma Raabe played the role of hero for the Tigers in their 8-7 walk-off win vs. No. 8 Georgia on Sunday.
- The Tigers trailed 7-5 going into the bottom of the fourth. Raabe would bring in two of the Tigers' three runs that would win them the game.
- Things started for Raabe in the bottom of the fourth, as her first career home run cut the lead to just one.
- The Tigers would tie the game up in the seventh off of a bases-loaded walk, as freshman OF Danie Garrison crossed home plate after redshirt freshman 2B Kendyll Bailey earned a walked after a great at bat.
- With a tie game, one out and a 3-1 count, Raabe sealed the deal, reaching first base on an error caused by a hard hit ball to short off of her bat.
- As a result, Mizzou grabbed its first walk-off win since the Tigers toppled No. 8 Auburn, 5-4, at Mizzou Softball Stadium last season (4/13/18).
SOME ELI-TE PITCHING
- The unsung hero in Mizzou's win over Georgia was junior P Eli Daniel.
- While the bats and home runs were the main story of the day, Daniel's performance in relief of Norman over 3.1 IP saved the game for the Tigers.
- She entered the game in the final third of the top of the fourth inning, with the bases loaded, and immediately got her first K of the game to get the Tigers out of the jam.
- Over the next three innings, Daniel would strike out five of the 10 batters she faced. Her six total Ks are the second most in her career.
- Not only did Daniel not allow any runs over her 3.1 IP, she didn't surrender a single hit, either.
WILMES' WORLD
- Sophomore RF Brooke Wilmes was electric in Saturday's win over Georgia, going 3-3 at the plate with one run scored, two RBI and a walk.
- Wilmes became one of just six Tigers to hit three doubles in a game in program history. She is the first to accomplish the feat since Corrin Genovese had three in a 6-5 eight-inning win over Bradley during the 2014 Columbia NCAA Regional.
- Wilmes currently has a 14 game reached-base-safely streak going this season, the longest of anyone on the team.
- It was Wilmes' third game this season with at least three hits, the most on the team.
- The sophomore also made an incredible diving catch out in right field in the top of the seventh to help put the Dawgs away in game two.
BOMBS AWAY AGAINST UGA
- The Tiger offense was fueled by the long ball all day on Sunday, as Raabe, sophomore 3B Kimberly Wert, sophomore C Hatti Moore and freshman SS Jazmyn Rollin all homered against Georgia ace Mary Wilson Avant.
- It was the first time Mizzou got four home runs, and all from different players, since the Tigers did the same against No. 7 Washington during the 2017 Mary Nutter Classic.
- For Wert, it was her eighth home run this season, the most on the team. Of her 32 career hits, 13 of them have been home runs.
- Both of the homers from Wert were two-run shots, giving her four more RBI this weekend. Her 21 RBI also lead the team.
- For Raabe, it was her first career home run in what was just her third ever start.
- Moore's home run gives her two this season, one more than she had all of 2019.
- For Rollin, it was her fourth bomb this season, moving her into sole possession of second place on the team in the category.
