
Mizzou Wrestling Hosts Thursday Doubleheader Against Pair of In-State Teams

Tigers host Central Missouri and Missouri Valley with 30 minutes between duals
COLUMBIA, Mo. - Mizzou Wrestling will make its 2019-20 Hearnes Center debut with a dual doubleheader Thursday (Nov. 21), looking to bounce back from dual losses at Virginia Tech and vs. Illinois in St. Louis to open the season. Thursday, the Tigers are hosting a pair of in-state foes with Central Missouri at 6:30 p.m. followed by a matchup with Missouri Valley College, 30 minutes following the Central Missouri dual.
The Tigers enter the week having dropped a pair of challenging duals against then-No. 18 Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Va., as well as a dual in St. Louis' Francis Howell High School with Illinois.
Thursday's contest will mark the first dual for either of Mizzou's opponents this season, with both having spent time in tournaments to begin the 2019-20 campaign. It will also be the first time either school has competed against the Tigers since 2017, where Mizzou picked up a 56-0 victory against Central Missouri, and a 52-0 win against Missouri Valley.

- 149 Pounds – Sam Ritchie (3-4) vs. Emmett Kuntz (1-2)
- 157 Pounds – Phyllip Deloach (3-1) vs. Austin Morgan (0-2
- 165 Pounds – Luke Fortuna (3-2) vs. Zion Vazquez (0-2)
- 174 Pounds – Jeremiah Kent (1-2) vs. Jack Goin (2-2)
- 184 Pounds – Cordel Duhart (8-1) vs. Dominique Hampton (4-2)
- 197 Pounds – Jack Flynn (2-2) vs. TBD

- 157 Pounds – Phyllip Deloach (3-1) vs. Seth Johnson
- 165 Pounds – Peyton Mocco (2-4) vs. Elias Vaoifi
- 174 Pounds – Jeremiah Kent (1-2) vs. William Seibert
- 184 Pounds – Canten Marriott (2-3) vs. Tyler Crow
- 197 Pounds – Jack Flynn (2-2) vs. Dayton Brown
- Heavyweight – Rodrigo Diaz (3-3) vs. Joshua Isaac
Cevion Severado (125 pounds) is opening his season this Thursday. The redshirt sophomore finished his first year with a 22-7 record, all coming in tournament action. Ten of those victories went for bonus points.
Cameron Valdiviez (125 pounds and 133 pounds) enters these duals competing at two different weight classes. His last action came in the Southeast Open at 125 pounds, where he took home third place honors with a 4-1 record, capped off with a fall (3:43) over Korbin Meink from Campbell.
Dack Punke (133 pounds) followed his fifth-place finish at the Southeast Open, dropping his matchup at 125 pounds last week against Justin Cardani in the dual against Illinois. Punke looks to rebound after the 4-0 loss by decision.
Alex Butler (141 pounds) appeared last in the Southeast Open, where he earned a fourth-place finish with a pair of victories via decision, before a 6-1 defeat from George Mason's Alex Madrigal in the consolation bracket finals.
Sam Ritchie (149 pounds) is looking to improve upon his 3-4 start to the season. The redshirt senior finished last season at 6-12, as he matches up against Central Missouri this Thursday.
Brock Mauller (149 pounds) is coming off a 12-3 victory via major decision over Illinois' Mousa Jodeh. Mauller ranks second nationally, and looks to continue his winning streak into this Thursday.
Phyllip Deloach (157 pounds) will compete in both duals Thursday, after last appearing the Southeast Open. Deloach had a strong showing there, finishing 3-1, earning second place after falling to teammate Jarrett Jacques in the finals.
Luke Fortuna (165 pounds) enters the contest on Thursday with a 3-2 record. The redshirt senior looks to continue to build up that record after finishing 8-7 a season ago.
Peyton Mocco (165 pounds) took on No. 23 Danny Braunagel in the Tiger's dual against Illinois. Mocco lost an 11-5 decision, dropping his record to 2-3 on the season.
Jeremiah Kent (174 pounds) enters the week at 1-2 on the season thus far, with two matchups ahead of him on Thursday. The Columbia-native pieced together a strong 16-5 season while redshirting last year.
Cordel Duhart (184 pounds) is off to a torrid start to his redshirt freshman campaign. At eight wins, Duhart leads the team in victories and hopes to continue his hot start into Thursday.
Canten Marriott (184 pounds) picked up a pair of wins at the Southeast Open before dropping to fellow Tiger Dylan Wisman. Following his appearance there, Marriott took a 15-6 loss from No. 18 Zac Braunagel from Illinois.
Jack Flynn (197 pounds) looks to build off a 2-2 finish at the Southeast Open that included a victory via technical fall against Mount Olive's Ross Sealby.
Jake Bohlken (Heavyweight) looks to get his season underway with a matchup in the heavyweight class against Central Missouri. The redshirt senior finished last year with an 8-3 record including two victories via fall.
Rodrigo Diaz (Heavyweight) had a strong showing at the Southeast Open, with a 3-1 record, concluding with a 14-4 major decision victory over Grayson Walthall from Tennessee-Chattanooga.
