Tigers set for first matches in nine days

COLUMBIA, Mo. – Following a nine-day layoff, No. 25 Mizzou Volleyball (10-4, 2-2 SEC) returns to the court this weekend for a road/home split.
First, the Tigers head to Auburn Friday evening with first serve scheduled for 7 p.m. CT. Mizzou then quickly returns home for a Sunday afternoon matchup versus Tennessee at the Hearnes Center. First serve is slated for 2 p.m. CT.
Friday's matchup inside Auburn Arena will broadcast live on SEC Network + via WatchESPN, while Sunday's contest in Mid-Missouri will air live on SEC Network. Fans can also follow the action online via Twitter (@MizzouVB).

Series Snapshot vs. Auburn
- Mizzou leads the all-time series, 11-1.
- In the teams' last matchup (Nov. 7, 2018), Mizzou walked away with a straight-set victory in Auburn, Alabama.
- After dropping the programs' first-ever meeting (Sept. 6, 1996), Mizzou has responded with 11 consecutive victories in the all-time series.
Series Snapshot vs. Tennessee
- Mizzou leads the all-time series, 8-5.
- In the teams' last meeting (Nov. 14, 2018), the Volunteers claimed a 3-1 victory over the Tigers in Mid-Missouri.
- Tennessee has won three consecutive matches in the all-time series. Mizzou last defeated the Volunteers three years ago (Nov. 26, 2016), as it was the final triumph in a then-six match winning streak.
Tigers Remain in NCAA RPI Rankings, AVCA Top 25 Poll
- The NCAA revealed its second RPI rankings of the 2019 campaign Monday (Oct. 14), as Mizzou checked-in at No. 19 overall.
- With the Tigers at the halfway point of the season, they've certainly faced a challenging schedule thus far. 11 of the team's 14 total matches played have been against RPI Top 100 teams, including six against Top 50 squads and three versus Top 10 foes.
- Mizzou's top RPI wins this season occurred vs. No. 26 Texas A&M (Oct. 6) and vs. No. 35 Michigan (Sept. 6).
- Despite dropping the matches, the Tigers have contests against No. 1 Baylor, No. 8 Kentucky, No. 9 Hawaii and No. 37 Ole Miss on their season resume.
- Despite falling to Ole Miss last Wednesday (Oct. 9), Mizzou held on to its AVCA Top 25 ranking, as announced Monday (Oct. 14) by the organization. The Tigers have now placed in the nation's Top 25 in six consecutive weeks.
- Over the past two years, Mizzou has been recognized in the AVCA's weekly poll a total of 13 times. Furthermore, since joining the Southeastern Conference in 2012, the Tigers have been ranked a total of 32 times.
- With 14 matches remaining on the 2019 schedule, Mizzou will face a number of tough matchups, highlighted by a home contest vs. No. 13 Florida (Oct. 30) and road trips to Georgia (Nov. 10), No. 16 Kentucky (Nov. 20) and Ole Miss (Nov. 27). The Bulldogs and Rebels are currently receiving votes in the latest AVCA poll.
