COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Track & Field hosted the Missouri Collegiate Challenge on Saturday at the Hearnes Center Fieldhouse, as the Tigers recorded six first-place finishes. Mizzou also fielded a distance medley relay team at the Alex Wilson Invitational hosted by Notre Dame, as the team which of freshman Martin Prodanov (Ploidiv, Bulgaria), freshman Jayson Ashford (Fairview Heights, Ill.), redshirt sophomore Dustan Davidson (St. Louis, Mo.) and junior Kieran Wood (Cambridge, U.K) set the number three time in program history.
At the Missouri Collegiate Challenge, freshman Roberto Vilches (Mexico City, Mexico) had an impressive long jump debut, as he recorded the fourth best mark in school history and the 11th best mark nationally this season.
NOTABLE FINISHES
At the Alex Wilson Invitational, the Mizzou distance medley relay team of Prodanov, Ashford, Davidson, and Wood recorded the third-best time in school history with a time of 9:37.44 in a seventh-place finish.
In Columbia, Vilches recorded the fourth-best mark in school history and the 11th best mark nationally in his long jump debut with a jump of 7.82 (25-8) while placing first.
In the women's weight throw, redshirt junior CeCe Johnson (St. Louis, Mo.) set a new personal best and recorded the sixth-best mark in school history with a throw of 19.16m (62-10.5) while placing first. Freshman Arianna Fisher (San Jose, Calif.) moved into the 10th spot on the women's 60m dash top-10 list at Mizzou with her preliminary time of 7.73.
Also recording first places finishes on the day was redshirt sophomore Michaela Hackbarth (Downer's Grove, Ill.) in the women's 800m run, redshirt senior Avery Carter (Lee Summit, Mo.) in the men's weight throw, junior Emily Stuaffer (Reinholds, Penn.) in the women's shot put and redshirt senior Will Fife (Jefferson City, Mo.) in the men's shot put. Fife improved his personal record and No. 10 mark in program history to 18.37 (60-3.25) with the event win.
