COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Volleyball (11-2, 1-0 SEC) is set for its Southeastern Conference road opener Sunday afternoon at Arkansas. Series Snapshot vs. Arkansas
- Mizzou leads the all-time series over Arkansas, 10-3.
- The Tigers were victorious over the Razorbacks in their last meeting (Nov. 19, 2017) with a 3-1 triumph in Mid-Missouri.
- The Tigers' last visit to Fayetteville (Sept. 30, 2016) resulted in a straight-set victory.
- Mizzou has won the teams' last seven matchups and 10 of the last 11 contests.
Mizzou Sweeps No. 25 Alabama in 2018 SEC Opener
- The Tigers treated their home fans to a ranked victory Wednesday (Sept. 19) in their 2018 Southeastern Conference opener. Mizzou took care of the Crimson Tide in straight sets and improved to 6-1 all-time in SEC openers since joining its new conference in 2012.
- Additionally, it marked the Tigers' 13th, top 25 ranked victory since joining the SEC in 2012.
- The Tigers limited the Crimson Tide to only .056 hitting, including a -.025 mark in the third and final set. So far this season, Mizzou has held its opposition to under .100 overall hitting four times and under .200 hitting 10 times.
- Following its sweep over Alabama, Mizzou leads the SEC in opponent hitting percentage, limiting its foes to only .138 hitting this year. A big key to the Tigers' defensive prowess has been their blocking, as they earned 11.0 additional total blocks against Alabama.
- It marked their ninth match with double-digit total blocks this season, including their third straight such occurrence. Mizzou improved its stranglehold on the SEC lead in virtually every blocking category, as it now ranks first in total blocks (140), blocks per set (2.99) and block assists (203).
Kreklow's Earn 400th All-Time Win at Mizzou
- Wednesday evening's victory inside the Hearnes Center was extra special for Wayne Kreklow and Susan Kreklow, as they earned their 400th all-time victory as head coaches at Mizzou.
- In five years at the helm for the Tigers (2000-04), Susan accumulated a 109-46 record, while Wayne improved to 291-142 following Mizzou's win over the Crimson Tide Wednesday. Wayne is in midst of his 14th season (2005-present) as the Tigers' head coach.
- The 2018 campaign has been full of coaching accolades for the Kreklow duo, including their 900th win as all-time head coaches (2000-present) in collegiate volleyball with the Tigers' win over Fairfield (Aug. 25) at the James Madison Invitational.
