Moore and Sanchez go deep, keying Team Gold’s win

COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Softball met inside Devine Pavilion Saturday afternoon for its annual Black and Gold exhibition game. Behind a pair of home runs, Team Gold ultimately claimed a 5-2 victory over Team Black.

#MIZ Takeaways

Three Tigers recorded a multi-hit effort at the plate, highlighted by Moore's efforts for the victorious Team Gold.
In all, nine total Mizzou batters recorded at least one hit at the plate.
The Mizzou pitching staff posted six strikeouts in the circle. Sophomore RHP Eli Daniel led the way with four total punch outs.
Team Black scored both of its runs in the first inning, but were shut down the rest of the afternoon by efficient Tiger pitching. Freshman Trenity Edwards drew a bases loaded walk, followed by an RBI base hit from senior Paige Bange in their opening frame.
Team Gold's offensive production was more consistent, as it pushed a run across the plate in five of six innings played.
After its pair of solo home runs in the second and third innings, Team Gold sophomore Cayla Kessinger's RBI single in the fifth inning scored freshman Delaney McDannold from second base.
