On Friday's impressive victory…
"I was real pleased with our aggressiveness at the plate today. We also made them work which led to a lot of walks and base runners for us. Once again a lot of different hitters contributed in key situations. Our pitchers were outstanding today as well. Madi (Norman) and Nalani (Scates) were pumping strikes and delivering quick innings."
#MIZ Takeaways
- Kessinger extended her reach base safely streak to 24 consecutive games with a towering leadoff solo home run in the first inning. The impressive streak now stands as the T-7th longest in program history.
- Decker added to the Tigers' big opening inning with her first career double and two RBI. It marked back to back games with an RBI and fourth overall outing this season.
- Mizzou made the most of its scoring opportunities, as it tallied multiple runs in three separate frames.
- North Carolina's young pitching staff issued six walks and hit two Tiger batters. The eight free runners and seven Mizzou hits at the plate led to a bevy of opportunities throughout the game.
- Amanda Sanchez, Rylee Pierce, Brooke Wilmes and Hatti Moore joined Kessinger and Decker with RBI on the day.
- In the circle, Norman tallied a victory in her third-straight appearance. She has limited the opposition to two earned runs or less in all four starts this season.
- Nalani Scates continued her solid relief work for the Tigers with a perfect game-clinching inning against the Tar Heels. After a shaky first appearance of the year at the Kajikawa Classic, the Tiger righty has responded with three consecutive scoreless appearances.
