No. 15 @MizzouWBB Hits the Road for Rematch with Arkansas

Tip off is set for 4 p.m. CT on SEC Network

COLUMBIA, MO. - After a three-game homestand, No. 15 Mizzou Women's Basketball (19-5, 7-4) hits the road Sunday to face border rival Arkansas. The Tigers beat the Razorbacks, 88-54, on Jan. 21 at Mizzou Arena. Tip off Sunday is set for 4 p.m. CT on SEC Network. Mizzou is looking for just its third all-time win in Fayetteville.

No. 15 Mizzou Set for Road Rematch with Border Rival Rematch

  • The Tigers have won 12 of their last 16 regular season SEC games. Mizzou owns a winning streak against seven of 13 SEC opponents.
  • Mizzou has had a higher field goal percentage than its opponent in 22 of its 24 games this season. The Tigers held Mississippi State to its worst shooting performance (30.5) and scoring performance (57) of the season.
  • The Tigers have already clinched 19 wins for just the sixth time since 2000. A victory Thursday would give Mizzou three consecutive seasons with at least 20 wins for the first time since 1984-87.
  • A win Sunday would give Mizzou 20 wins by Feb. 11. That would be the quickest Mizzou has reached 20 wins in a season since the Tigers did so on Jan. 29 during the 1976-77 campaign.
  • Mizzou allows the seventh-fewest rebounds per game in the nation, as opponents grab just 30.5 per game. Coach Pingeton's squad ranks 14th in the nation in rebound margin.
  • Jordan Frericks is coming off an 18-point outing vs. Florida and a 15-point, 9-rebound outing vs. Kentucky.
  • Frericks has scored at least four points in every game this season. She has also grabbed at least five rebounds 20 times in 24 games. Mizzou is 17-3 in those contests.
  • Frericks ranks 10th in the nation among active players in career rebounds with 972. She is just the fourth Tiger in program history to surpass 900 career rebounds and recently moved into third on Mizzou's all-time career rebounds list, passing Evan Unrau (945).
  • Columbia native Sophie Cunningham is averaging a team-best 18.5 (5th in the SEC) points per game after averaging 17.5 points per contest last season. The other four players in the top five in the league in scoring have all taken at least 319 field goal attempts.  Cunningham has scored 426 total points on just 249 field goal attempts.
  • She ranks second in the SEC in free throw pct. min. 100 attempts (.845) and ranks second in 3-point field goal pct. shooting 45.9 percent while ranking seventh in the league in field goal percentage (55.8). She is the only guard in the top seven in the league in FG percentage. Cunningham ranks sixth in the nation among active players in career free throw percentage, shooting 84.3 percent at the line.
  • Cunningham is the only player in the nation shooting at least 45 percent from 3-point range, 84 percent from the free throw line and 55 percent from the field.
  • Cunningham could potentially set a new single season 3-point field goal percentage record, which is held by her sister Lindsey. She recently poured in 29 points vs. Kentucky, draining five triples (her most in league play).

Mizzou at Arkansas

  • Mizzou has won five consecutive games over the Razorbacks with the last loss coming at Arkansas on Jan. 17, 2016. Mizzou is looking to complete a sweep over Arkansas in back-to-back seasons for the first time in program history.
  • In the last five meetings, Mizzou has beaten the Razorbacks by an average of 14.0 points per game. The 34-point win on Jan. 21 was the largest margin of victory for Mizzou over the Razorbacks in the all-time head-to-head series.
