
@MizzouGym Ranked 19th in Preseason Poll

COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Missouri gymnastics team is ranked 19th nationally in the Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Association (WCGA) preseason poll, the organization announced on Monday. This year marks the fourth-consecutive season Missouri was among the top 25 teams in the preseason poll, as the Tigers were selected 17th prior to last season, 19th before 2017 and 23rd prior to the 2016 campaign.
The 2019 regular season features 15 matchups with 14 teams ranked in the top 25, including 10 meets against top 10 opponents. Overall, Mizzou faces off against No. 2 Oklahoma, No. 3 Florida, No. 4 LSU, No. 5 Utah, No. 6 Alabama, No. 7 Georgia, No. 9 Michigan, No. 10 Kentucky, No. 12 Arkansas, No. 13 Denver, No. 14 Auburn, No. 20 Arizona State, No. 21 Stanford and No. 23 Minnesota. The Tigers actually take on LSU twice during the regular season.
Missouri officially opens the 2019 season on Friday, Jan. 4 in Tempe, Ariz., in a quad meet against host Arizona State, Minnesota and UIC. The team returns to Columbia for the Beauty and the Beast on Saturday, Jan. 19 at 1 p.m., where the gymnasts face off against Auburn and the wrestling team faces Central Michigan. That event will be held at Mizzou Arena.
