COLUMBIA, Mo. – No. 19 Mizzou Volleyball officially opens its 2017 season this weekend at the Culvers Governors Challenge in Clarksville, Tenn. The Tigers will meet Marshall, Middle Tennessee, Northern Iowa and Austin Peay at the Foy Fitness & Recreation Center and the Winfield Dunn Center.
Head Coach Wayne Kreklow and the Tigers are scheduled for a pair of doubleheaders, beginning with their official season opener against Marshall on Friday, Aug. 25. First serve is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. CT. Mizzou returns to the gym later that evening, as it meets Middle Tennessee at 5:30 p.m. CT.
The Tigers have a quick turnaround on Saturday, Aug. 26, squaring off against Northern Iowa at 10 a.m. CT. Mizzou's Culvers Governors Challenge finale is set for 3 p.m. CT against host institution Austin Peay.

Three Returning All-Americans Headline 2017 Roster
- Mizzou brings a wealth of experienced returners and exciting newcomers to this year's roster. Headlining the Tigers' starters from a season ago are AVCA All-Americans redshirt senior Melanie Crow, redshirt senior Kira Larson and junior Alyssa Munlyn.
- In late June, Crow and Munlyn were named to the 2017 Preseason All-SEC Team, as the Tigers duo were two of 10 total players on this year's preseason list.
Tigers Feature Nationally Regarded 2017 Freshmen Class
- Coach Kreklow brought in a nationally regarded freshmen class this season, as OH Leketor Member-Meneh, S Andrea Fuentes and OH Dariana Hollingsworth-Santana make up the newcomer Class of 2017.
- Member-Meneh was named the 2016 Missouri High School Volleyball Coaches Association Volleyball Player of the Year and was tabbed as a Top-50 recruit in the nation per PrepVolleyball.com.
- Fuentes was the team captain for the U20 Puerto Rican National Volleyball Team and won "Best Setter" honors at the 2016 NORCECA Championship.
- Hollingsworth was honored as the team captain for the U20 Puerto Rican National Team at the 2017 NORCECA Pan-American Cup and garnered "Best Scorer" honors at the 2016 NORCECA Championships.
Mizzou Tabbed No. 19 in 2017 AVCA Preseason Coaches Poll
- On Aug. 9, Mizzou checked in at No. 19 in the 2017 AVCA Coaches Preseason Top-25 Poll. It marked the Tigers' first appearance in the AVCA Preseason Top-25 poll since 2014.
- Overall, Mizzou has landed a spot on the preseason list six times under Wayne and Susan Kreklow's tenure (2000-present).
