COLUMBIA, Mo. – In a midseason schedule addition, Mizzou Softball and Illinois have agreed to a mid-week single game matchup, announced Monday by head coach Ehren Earleywine. The Tigers and Fighting Illini will meet on Wednesday, March 8, on the campus of Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Mo.
First pitch is scheduled for 7:15 p.m. (CT) and the designated home team will be decided on a pre-game coin flip.
Mizzou hosted its first-ever games at the brand new Mizzou Stadium this past weekend, accumulating a 3-3 record over three days. The Tigers bring a 10-8 overall record into their contest against Illinois. The Fighting Illini are 12-6 overall this season, recently finishing a 4-1 trip at the LSU Invitational in Baton Rouge, La.
The Tigers hold a 7-1 all-time advantage over the Fighting Illini. In the teams' last meeting, Mizzou claimed a 17-5 triumph over Illinois on March 25, 2015, in St. Charles, Mo.
