GAME NOTES

COLUMBIA, Mo. - With nine victories in its last 11 contests and four wins in a row, Mizzou Women's Basketball (20-9, 10-5) takes it red hot momentum on the road as the Tigers face Alabama on Sunday. Tip on SEC Network Plus is set for 2 p.m CT.

OF NOTE

  • Mizzou has 20 victories for the 2nd straight season. The last time the Tigers won at least 20 games in two straight seasons was '85-86 & '86-87.
  • Mizzou's 15 home wins and 10 conference wins matches its most in a season since 2005-06. An 11th SEC win on Sunday would give Mizzou 11 conference wins for the first time since 1989-90. The last time the Tigers won at least eight conference games in back-to-back seasons was 1986-87 and 1987-88.
  • The Tigers' free throw percentage as a team, 80.2 percent, is on pace to set single-season program and SEC records. Only 17 teams have shot above 80 percent from the charity stripe in a season in NCAA history.
  • Mizzou has clinched its fifth consecutive winning season. The last time the Tigers put together five straight winning seasons was 1985-90.
  • Mizzou is riding its second win streak of four or more in league play this season. It's the first time in program history that Mizzou has recorded multiple conference win streaks of four or more in the same season.
  • Three of the last four meetings between Alabama and Mizzou have been decided by one possession.
  • Mizzou's win over No. 6 South Carolina was its first over a Top 10 opponent since the Tigers beat No. 6 Mississippi State last season.
  • Mizzou's senior class has won 78 games, the most since the 1987-88 senior class.
  • Mizzou has won nine out of its last 11 games, winning five in a row in January and four in a row since a loss to Tennessee on Feb. 9
  • Mizzou's five-game win streak in January, which was snapped at Mississippi State, was its longest in conference play since 1990.
  • Mizzou has three conference win streaks of four or more since joining the SEC.
  • With victories over South Carolina, Texas A&M and Kentucky during the streak, the Tigers have downed five straight ranked opponents at Mizzou Arena, dating back to last season.
  • With 9:39 remaining in the third quarter vs. Ole Miss, Lianna Doty recorded her 471st assist which moved her into sole possession of 2nd place all-time in Mizzou Women's Basketball history. Doty needs 18 assists to break the program record for career assists.

SOPHIE ON A ROLL

  • Sophie Cunningham won a pair of National Player of the Week awards for the first time in her career and her second SEC Player of the Week award this season after an outstanding week. Cunningham averaged 27.0 points, 6.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists over two wins last week. She poured in 26 points as Mizzou toppled No. 6 South Carolina, scoring the game-winner with 0.6 seconds left.
  • Cunningham racked up 32 points in her most recent outing against Ole Miss. With 32 points at LSU and 36 points vs. Texas A&M, she is the only player in the SEC with three 30-point performances in league play. Cunningham shot 11-of-13 vs. Ole Miss, her highest career field goal percentage in a single game (84.6%). Only five SEC players have shot above 80 percent in a game in league play.
  • With 28 points at Florida, 26 vs. USC and 32 vs. Ole Miss, Cunningham has reached at least 26 points in three straight games. She is the first Tiger to do since Sandie Prophete in 1989.
  • Cunningham is one of eight players in the nation with at least five games of totaling least 17 points, seven rebounds and five assists. All five of those performances came at home this season.
  • Cunningham ranks second in the SEC in scoring with 17.7 points per game (19.1 PPG in SEC play). She's shooting 55 percent and averaging 26.3 points per game during the Tigers' current four-game win streak.
  • She has scored 927 career points. That's the 2nd-most ever scored by a Tiger sophomore, trailing only Julie Helm's 1,065 points.
  • Cunningham went 10-for-19 from the field and 14-of-15 from the free throw line vs. Texas A&M. She is the first Tiger in 15 seasons to make 10 field goals and 10 free throws in the same game and she's now done it twice in her career (Wake Forest last season).
  • The Ole Miss performance marked the eighth time since her return from a back injury that Cunningham has notched at least 20 points in a game. She's now reached 20 points in a game nine times this season and 19 times in her young career (which includes just 59 total games played).
  • After averaging 14.0 points per game a season ago on her way to capturing SEC Freshman of the Year honors, Cunningham has pushed her average to 17.7 points per game in 2016-17. That ranks fourth in the SEC thus far.
  • Cunningham is the only player in the SEC shooting above 45 percent from the field (48.6 percent) and above 80 percent from the free throw line (84.5 percent) this season

THREE-POINT BARRAGE

  • In SEC play, Mizzou has drained a league-best 124 three-pointers, averaging 8.3 triples per contest. No other team in the SEC averages more than seven treys per game. The Tigers are shooting a blistering 40.4 percent from beyond the arc, which ranks second in the SEC, trailing only Texas A&M, who has taken 114 less attempts.
  • An SEC team has made at least 12 three-pointers in a conference game six times this season. Mizzou is responsible for five of those six games. Mizzou made a season-high 14 triples against Ole Miss. It marked the first time in 2016-17 that two different Tigers made five treys in the same game (Lindsey & Sophie Cunningham). Mizzou shot a season-best 60.9% from three (min. 10 attempts).
  • As a team, Mizzou is 46-of-91 (50.5 percent) from beyond the arc over the last four games/
  • Three different Tigers have made at least 26 triples in conference play thus far (Sierra Michaelis - 30, Sophie Cunningham - 29, and Lindsey Cunningham - 26). No other SEC team has three players with 25 or more treys in league play.

100

  • Mizzou scored 100 points on Thursday vs. Ole Miss for the first time this season. The 100 points were the most since beating Bradley 126-55 in 2013. The last time the Tigers scored 100 points in a conference game was 104 against Oklahoma on Feb. 25, 1989.
  • Mizzou beat Ole Miss, 100-65, the largest margin of victory in a conference for the Tigers since a 93-53 win over Iowa State on Jan. 19, 1984.
  • An SEC team has scored 100 points in a game seven times this season. Mizzou is the only team in the group to score 100 against an SEC opponent. Thirty-five points is the third largest margin of victory in the SEC between two league opponents this season.
  • Mizzou scored 50 points in both halves. The Tigers hadn't score 50 points in a half all season until Thursday's outburst.
