@MizzouFootball Falls at Georgia, 53-28

ATHENS, Ga. – Mizzou Football lost to No. 4 Georgia in a shootout, 53-28, Saturday night at Sanford Stadium. Mizzou scored the most points allowed by the Bulldogs all season with four touchdowns coming through the air. Georgia had allowed just three passing TDs all year before allowing four to Mizzou Saturday night. The story of the game was third-down conversions as Georgia converted 13-of-18 while Mizzou was limited to just 6-of-14 conversions.

Turning Point

After Mizzou hooked up for a 63-yard TD pass-and-catch from Drew Lock to Emanuel Hall midway through the second quarter, the second of the game for the duo, Georgia tallied a go-ahead field goal with 7:01 remaining in the half. Lock then threw a third-down INT on the ensuing Mizzou possession and Georgia took the ball 41 yards over six plays, capped by a rushing TD by Jake Fromm. The Dawgs added a field goal as time expired in the second quarter, giving Georgia a 34-21 lead at halftime. Georgia then outscored Mizzou, 19-7, in the second half to pull away.

  • Junior WR Emanuel Hall had a pair of 63-yard TD grabs Saturday. He has eight catches for 270 yards and three scores over his last two games. He has back-to-back 100-yard games for the first time in his career.
  • Junior QB Drew Lock passed for 253 yards and four scores Saturday, the second consecutive game that he has had at least three TD passes. He has nine TDs and just two picks over his last three games.
  • Lock had his best QB rating ever in an SEC game (189.8).
  • Junior LB Terez Hall added 1.5 tackles for loss to his ledger Saturday, moving his season total to 8.0. That is the third-most in the SEC this season.
  • Hall posted double-digit tackles for the second consecutive game, finishing with 10 Saturday.
  • Junior P Corey Fatony did not allow a return yard on five punts, pinning Georgia inside the 20 four different times. He has allowed just four punt-return yards all season.
