Tigers Cruise to 68-21 Homecoming Win

Lock throws for 6 TD's, Albert O. hauls in 3

COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Football ran past Idaho, 68-14, Saturday afternoon at the 106th Mizzou Homecoming game, played at Memorial Stadium. Mizzou hung 51 points in the first half, its most ever in a half vs. an FBS school, while connecting on five passing touchdowns. Idaho had allowed just six passing TD's all year before allowing that many to the Tigers in the game.

Turning Point

With the game tied, 7-7, Mizzou's defense forced a three-and-out and sophomore Richaud Floyd fielded the ensuing punt at his own 15-yard line and took it 85 yards, weaving through the Idaho special teams group, for his first career score of any kind. It was the third-longest punt return TD in school history and longest since 1960. It was the first punt return TD for Mizzou since Johnathon Johnson had a 54-yarder vs. Eastern Michigan a year ago. | IN DEPTH: FLOYD'S PR IS THE TURNING POINT

Top Tigers

  • Freshman TE Albert Okwuegbunam tied the school record for TD catches by a tight end, becoming just the third TE to ever haul in three TD passes in a game. His three TD catches are just one off the school record. | IN DEPTH: ALBERT O CRUSHES IDAHO
  • Junior QB Drew Lock turned in the fourth game of his career with five or more TD passes and second this season. He threw for the fourth-most yards ever in a single game (467) and now owns the three of the top five single-game passing marks in school history by yardage (first – 521; fourth – 467; and fifth – 450). His six TD passes Saturday are the second-most ever in Mizzou history, trailing only the seven he threw in the season-opener vs. Missouri State.
  • Senior WR J'Mon Moore finished with a career-high 11 catches for 174 yards and a score, his second 100-yard game of the year and ninth in his career. He moved into ninth place on Mizzou's all-time passing yardage list with 1,975 career yards. He also moved into seventh in school history with 16 career TD grabs.
  • With his three catches for 80 yards, Emanuel Hall has 11 catches for 350 yards and four TDs in three games in the month of October. He is averaging 31.8 yards per catch in that span.
  • Junior DT Terry Becker Jr. recorded a career-high two sacks to pick up the first multi-sack game of his career. He matched his career-high with two tackles-for-loss and matched his career-high with a team-high-tying six total tackles, including four solo stops.
  • Junior LB Terez Hall tallied three tackles and added 0.5 tackles for loss against Idaho. He now has 8.5 tackles for loss on the season, which is already the most for a Mizzou LB in a season since current Minnesota Viking Kentrell Brothers has 12.0 in 2015.

Potent Quotables

Notes

  • The 68 points scored in the game are the second most against an FBS opponent in Mizzou history, trailing only the 69 points Mizzou scored against Nevada in 2008 and Kansas in 1969.
  • Mizzou is the first team in the FBS to score 50+ points in a half this season. Idaho had only allowed 49 first-half points in its first six games this season combined
  • Junior QB Drew Lock had another career day throwing the football, recording 467 passing yards and six touchdowns. His passing yards rank fourth all-time in Mizzou history behind Blaine Gabbert's 468 yards in 2009, Jeff Handy's 480 yards in 1992, and Lock's 521 yards against Missouri State earlier this season, while his six touchdowns is tied for second, behind only his seven touchdowns against Missouri State (Sept. 2).
  • RS sophomore WR Richaud Floyd's 85-yard punt return is the third-longest in school history during the modern era behind Donnie Smith's 90-yard and 88-yard punt returns, which both occurred during the 1960 season.
