COLUMBIA, Mo. – Following a successful early season tournament schedule, No. 13 Mizzou Softball is set to begin its Southeastern Conference slate this weekend at Ole Miss.
The Tigers will open with consecutive 6 p.m. (CT) games on Friday, March 11, and Saturday, March 12. Mizzou and Ole Miss conclude the three-game set on Sunday, March 13, with first pitch scheduled for 1 p.m. (CT).
All three games in Oxford, Miss., will broadcast live on SEC Network + via WatchESPN. Fans can also follow each matchup online at StatBroadcast.com and on Twitter (@MizzouSoftball).
TIGERS FINISH JUDI GARMAN TOURNAMENT WITH A FLURRY
- Mizzou concluded a long 10 day, two tournament road trip in California last weekend (March 3-5) with an impressive showing at the Judi Garman Tournament in Fullerton, Calif.
- After dropping their first game vs. No. 2 Michigan, the Tigers responded in a big way with four consecutive victories, including back-to-back wins over ranked foes to end the road trip (8-0 over No. 17 Arizona State, 10-4 over No. 22 Baylor).
- Once again, head coach Ehren Earleywine saw his team's offense produce, hitting .319 with 32 runs scored, six doubles, one triple, four home runs and 24 RBI at the Judi Garman.
- Mizzou tallied eight or more runs in three of its five games in Fullerton. Overall this season, Mizzou has scored greater than eight runs in an incredible 11-of-16 games thus far.
MIZZOU'S OFFENSE POSTING IMPRESSIVE RANKINGS
- The Tigers' offensive numbers season-to-date rank impressively both in the SEC and NCAA. Highlights include the following:
.374 batting average (4th in SEC, 7th in NCAA)
1.31 home runs per game (3rd in SEC, 13th in NCAA)
.467 on base percentage (6th in SEC, 9th in NCAA)
8.69 runs per game (3rd in SEC, 6th in NCAA)
.584 slugging percentage (5th in SEC, 11th in NCAA)
3.25 stolen bases per game (1st in SEC, 1st in NCAA)
TIGERS RUNNING WILD THIS SEASON
- So far this season, Mizzou has swiped 52 stolen bases in 54 attempts (96.3-percent success rate). Redshirt senior OF Taylor Gadbois (13), redshirt senior SS Sami Fagan (12) and freshman OF Regan Nash (10) lead the Tigers' attack on the base paths with double-digit stolen bases already.
- Freshman 1B Rylee Pierce (6), senior OF Emily Crane (4), junior C Kirsten Mack (2) and junior UT Chloe Rathburn (2) have also been active in the running game for the Tigers.
- Mizzou's running threat has struck fear in opponents all season long. In fact, the Tigers' 3.25 stolen bases per game ranks first in the SEC and first in the NCAA. Additionally, its 52 stolen bases ranks second-most in the SEC.
- The Tigers' single-game high in stolen bases was six against Elon (Feb. 19). Overall, Mizzou has produced at least one stolen base in 15-of-16 games, multiple stolen base nights in 11-of-16 games, swiped four-plus stolen bases in 9-of-16 games and tallied five-plus stolen bases in five games.
