Opening Statement:
"Thank you everyone for coming out. I am really proud of our team. I thought they did a really good job maintaining their focus and their intensity for forty minutes. I thought there was a couple possessions there in the second half that got a little loose, but I really thought they did a great job regrouping. I have to give a ton of credit to our seniors. Their leadership has been really outstanding. I lean on them a lot. I demand a lot from them. To see the way that they embrace that, the way they carry themselves is really positive. I have been really proud of the focus tat we have had, especially as of late in our practices and in our shoot-around. We have a very business-like approach. It is a good win. I thought we did what we were supposed to do. Certainly, we need to get better in some areas. We know the competition is going to get tougher as we go to Hawaii, but it a good start to our season."
On the offense's function in the last two games...
"I just really like the balance we have right now. I think Jordan Frericks has just been so strong and so explosive. She has improved so much, just with her toughness and her mentality. That is exciting, because she has worked hard in the offseason, as our whole team has. I just think, offensively, we have a lot of different weapons. They really tried to take away Mo's three-point shooting. I thought she played a great game. She didn't force her shot. She didn't try to make things happen that weren't there. She worked within our system and she was willing to give up those shots and not force things because she knew we had other players that could knock down shots. I like the versatility that we are showing right now with our inside-out game. I think we have a lot more of paint presence, not only with our post-up, but with our ability to dribble drive a little bit. I like where that is moving. I think our screening action still has to get a little bit better. We have to do a little bit better with angles. So, there is still room for improvement."
On upcoming competition and learning about the team...
"I feel like I have a pretty good handle on them. I think we are in a really good place and I think they understand our competition is going to get tougher. Trips like this, I think they serve a lot of different purposes. Number one, you get a chance to play teams you don't typically play throughout your nonconference season, so that gives us a different look and a different feel. Cal is top-15 team and UNLV has a really, really good team. So, just to play that level of competition is going to be exciting."
