Set on one of the premier cross country courses in the nation and home to next month's NCAA Championships, Saturday's Pre-National Invitational is sure to live up to its reputation as one of the top meets of the collegiate season. This year, 158 teams and over 1,6000 athletes will line up on the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course in Terre Haute, Ind., including nine of the top nationally-ranked women's teams, and 10 of the top ranked men's teams.
Lining up for the Tigers are the top seven from each squad, including junior Tyler Schneider, who led the charge at the Greater Louisville Classic two weeks ago. He holds the top performance ever for Mizzou at the meet with his ninth-place finish in 24:02.60. Joining him on the line will be returning SEC Freshman of the Year T.J. Carey, returning All-SEC Second Team finisher senior Sam Dickerson, along with sophomores Jordan Cook, Chandler Dye, Dan Roe, and Drew White.
On the women's side, returning SEC Freshman of the Year and All-SEC First Team finisher, Kaitlyn Fischer, will be back on the line. Joining her will be freshman Karissa Schweizer, who took the reins for the Tigers at the Greater Louisville Classic two weeks ago with her 11th-place finish, as well as junior Sam Garrett, freshman Jamie Kempfer, sophomores Nicole Mello and Kayla Wolf, and senior Courtney Wood.

THE BRADLEY PINK CLASSIC

Kicking off the weekend is the return of Head Coach Marc Burns to Peoria, Ill., where he served as head coach for four years before arriving at Mizzou earlier this year. This is the second consecutive year that the teams have traveled to Bradley for the Pink Classic, a meet dedicated to Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Featuring over 900 individuals from 45 universities and colleges, the field is set to be an exciting one as the teams check out the setting for next month's NCAA Midwest Regional.
The women are no strangers to success on the Newman Golf Course, after they brought home team titles in both the open and university division races last year. Led by then-freshman Kaitlyn Fischer, whose 20:57 finish on the 6000-meter course marks the ninth-fastest time ever for the meet, the Mizzou women put all five in the top 25 of the university division field to win by meet with 65-points.
Featured on this year's Mizzou line-up are members of the winning women's, and second-place men's, squads from the Louisville Classic Blue Race two weeks ago. All seven men, and three of the six women, ran personal record (PR) times for the 8000-meter and 5000-meter cross country course, respectively, to bring home the Louisville Slugger team awards.
The day will start at 3:00 p.m. with the women's 6000-meter White Race, followed by the men's 8000-meter White Race at 3:40 p.m., the women's 6000-meter Red Race at 4:25 p.m., and the men's 8000-meter Red Race at 5:05 p.m.
