Missouri Head Coach Robin Pingeton
Opening Statement.... "Thanks everyone for coming out. It was not pretty at times, but there were certainly some bright spots. I really felt like in that second half things started clicking for us a little bit. I felt in the first half we made it tougher than what it needed to be, but again continued to see some growth out of our young kids, proud of our girls. I think starting off the season 4-0 no matter who we are playing, with a young inexperienced team, you have to be happy with that."
On team's improved play from the perimeter...
"We just have a lot more consistency from the perimeter this year. If we do not prove that we can consistently knock down those shots, it is going to be a long year inside for Christine (Flores) and BreAnna (Brock). It is always good to see. It has probably been awhile since we hit 11 three-pointers here, I know last year we struggled at times, but it is good to see them shooting the ball so well. It is a credit to them for putting in so much time outside of practices."
On making things harder than they needed to be in the first half...
"Well the first two or three minutes we had four turnovers, really unforced turnovers. It is the first time we really faced a team like this, where they were going to pick us up on defense like that for forty minutes, and we just kept thinking that we had to run our offense through Kyley (Simmons)."

On improved post play defense....
"We have always worked on getting around the post. We do not want to get pinned at any time. We have always worked really hard at that. We have taken it to another level this year so it's improved and it is only going to get better."

On second half adjustments...
"Coach Pingeton just really emphasized being dialed in. We knew the guards would be open if we were just able to swing the ball. We talked about that amongst ourselves and we just had a little better ball movement and found the open looks. They had been there all game, but the guards were on us so tight, we were able to swing the ball and get open looks."
On advantages to quick release...
"It absolutely helps, because we are going to seeing more competition that is bigger, faster, stronger and we have to be able to have a quick release, absolutely."
BreAnna Brock
On team leadership and helping to overcome early adversity....
"Just from a leadership standpoint, me, Christine (Flores) and Bailey (Gee) have all worked on that and just learned that it is not going to be the seniors that are going to be the mouth. Everyone is going to work together and it comes collectively that we have to say, 'hey, keep your head up,' because we let one person come down, the whole team is going to come down."
